I slowly open my eyes to see my beautiful girlfriend cuddled up into the blanket right next to me. Her expression is soft and she looks so peaceful.
I love watching her sleep because all the stress and the pressure are faded and she looks calm.

Her past wasn't easy and sometimes she tends to overwork herself, wanting to accomplish to many missions at the same time.
It stresses her I know that and I make sure to be there for her when she has her working phases.
I love taking care of her. Not because she is stressed and sometimes overwhelmed but because she let's me see this side of her.

The other Avengers don't get to see how much she works and how long she sits on those after mission reports but I do and I appreciate that so much.
It took a long time to get her to fully trust me but I didn't rush her. I knew one day she'll come around and she did.
Ever since then our bond just got stronger.
Of course, we had our fights, which couple doesn't but we always solved it together and talked about it.

After almost four years of dating, it's sure to say, that she is the love of my life and I can't imagine a living without her.

As all those thoughts cross my mind, here eyes open a little and I see my favorite shade of green.
"Good morning, babe." Her voice is a little raspy and I love it.
"Good morning. How did you sleep?" I open my arms a little for her to cuddle in which she does.
"Great, I had a wonderful dream in which we were walking around Italy at the beach in the snow."

I giggle a little and kiss her nose. "That's beautiful, baby. I'm just not sure if there's snow at the beach."
She hums in response and a little smile appears on her lips.
Due to her job it's a bit hard for us to travel. We stayed in the U.S. and had little road trips but we never visited Europe. She was in Europe before but it was always connected to work and never to enjoy the countries.

We cuddle a little while longer.
I cherish these morning cuddles so much because when we're around the others she acts tougher and barley shows her soft side.
That's why I love the mornings and evenings so much. It's just the two of us and she let's down her guard completely.

This morning our cuddles are disturbed by footsteps and a quick knock on the door.
I groan and watch as Nat stretches and gets up. I follow her and smirk at the pyjama she's wearing. It has little reindeers and Christmas trees on it.
I'm more than aware that I'm wearing the same. It took a lot of pleading and puppy dog eyes to get her to wear matching Christmas pyjamas but it's so worth it.

We quickly go into the bathroom to brush our teeth and splash water into our faces. The cold liquid wakes me up completely and I start to jump up and down a little.

"Are you exited, honey?" Her eyes are soft as she takes my hand and we step out on the corridor.
"Yes! I love Christmas and unpacking gifts and sitting around the tree with the others and Pepper's hot chocolate and the smell of Wanda's pancakes."
Nat smiles at me and brushes my hand with her thumb. She knows I always loved Christmas and especially since we first celebrated it together with the other Avengers.
She was never that fond of Christmas but the last three years she seemed to enjoy it more and more.

And the best part is that she lets me be excited. A lot of people would probably call my behavior childish but she never once used that word. One time she said she actually finds it pretty adorable how happy and joyful I get.

We take the elevator down to the living room where most of the others already sit on the couch in front of the tree.
She pulls me towards an armchair and I sit down in the middle while she sits on the armrest.
I look at the tree with it's ornaments and lights in awe and smile at all the presents that are underneath the tree.

Bruce comes in while Pepper hands out the hot chocolate she made. It's her special one she only makes on holidays. I take a sip and burn my tongue. Nat chuckles a little at me but her eyes are filled with love and she doesn't mean it in a mean way.

"About time, Banner!" Tony murres and looks around to check if everyone is here. I never thought he'd be a guy for Christmas but he loves to watch us unpack the presents.
"So can we now start unpacking?" Thor's eyes are focused on the many, different wrapped boxes.

"Yes."
And as if that's the word that kept everyone in their seats, we all rush to the tree.
Well, most of us. Bruce, Steve, Tony and Nat stay where they are but all of the others join the chaos of looking for their presents.
Who would have thought that they would be so excited to unwrap gifts?

I quickly find mine and Nat's and carry them all back to our chair. She takes some from me and we put them on the ground. Even though she hides it very well, she really enjoys opening the presents.
We get some usual gifts like socks or a sweater.
Last but not least there are the ones we bought for each other.

I carefully open the little box she got me and my breath gets caught in my throat.

"Tasha..." I say silently and look at her and back at the chain she got me.
It's her symbol out of little red jewels and as I take it into my hand to look at it, I see our anniversary engraved in the back.
It means a lot to me because it shows me that she fully trusts me and let's me see who she is and that she considers me hers so much that she shares her symbol with me.

No one else is allowed to wear it and Tony paid a lot of money to keep the rights.
Even the merchandise shops who sell cups, puppets, t-shirts or basically anything with the logos of the Avengers aren't allowed to use it.
It's hers and a part of her privet life. The fact that she wants to share this with me is such a huge honor to me.

"It's beautiful and...and...just perfect." I whisper as I look up at her with teary eyes.
"I love you."
She says it really quiet so the others can't hear her because those words are only meant to be for me.
"I love you too. So much." She cups my cheeks and her thumb gently wipes away a tear that must have found it's way out of my eyes.

"Want me to put it on?" I nod, hand her the chain, turn around and hold my hair up.
She puts the bracelet around my neck and closes it in the back.
Before I let my hair down, she presses a small kiss on my neck, that gives me goosebumps.
I turn around to her and my fingers brush over the chain.
"I love it." She smiles at me and we lock eyes for a few seconds before she reaches for her gift. I bite my lip nervously as she pulls out the envelope.

"Let me guess, it's a Christmas card? Or a letter from the bank?" Even though she is teasing me, there is a loving tone in her voice.
I smile and simply shake my head.
She opens the envelope and for a few seconds she's at a loss for words.
That never happened before and I'm glad no one notices because they would tease her with it later.

Her eyes flicker from the tickets to my eyes and back.
"How did you do that?" Her voice is silent but becomes steadier with each word. My smile grows bigger.
"I talked to Tony and after a long discussion he agreed that it wouldn't hurt you to take a little break from work and visit some foreign countries."

"But Europe?" I put my hand on hers and nod.
"You always wanted to visit it and now we will do it together."
"I can't take it, it's too much money, babe. I don't want you to spend all your salary on this present."
"Don't worry about it, the tickets are just a symbol. We can take the quint jet and Tony knows some people over there and made some pretty great deals so the hotels aren't that expensive."

Nat's eyes dart across the room to Tony who unwraps a present from Pepper.
"Wait. Hotels? Like in plural?" It's like this realization suddenly hit her.
"Yes. We will visit more than one country." I smile and she nudges my shoulder playfully.

"You always surprise me, my love."
"I'm doing the best I can."
I scrunch my nose and she pulls me into a tight hug and mumbles a 'thank you' into my ear before kissing me.

"Merry Christmas."
"Merry Christmas." I reply and smile happily, mirroring her expressions with that.

The moment doesn't last any longer because Wanda gets up, wearing a new apron and clapping her hands.
"Who wants Christmas pancakes?"
All the heads turn around and we hurry to the table. We take our hot chocolate with us.

Between this, the pancakes, my new chain and my more than happy girlfriend, it's safe to say that this is the best Christmas I ever had so far and I'm really thankful for that.
