CHAPTER 5

THE NEXT DAY (At school)

It was a normal day, students running late for their classes. Teachers giving out lessons and assignments. It was pretty normal except for Bomin. Ever since last night, he couldn't focus on anything at all. He's mind was a mess, he barely heard his friends calling him for lunch. " Bomin? Bomin? CHOI BOMIN! " Yongtaek screamed in his ears as he snapped out.

" Hyung! What gives? " he whined and smacked his hyung, " We were calling you a billion of times but you didn't respond. Are you okay? " Jaehyun asked. He was about to answer but nothing came out of his mouth, " Let's just go, I'm hungry " he changed the topic and left the classroom. 

His friends shared some looks before shrugging it off and chased after him, " Yah Choi Bomin! Wait for us! " Jaehyun yelled as they ran through the hallways. " Catch me if you can slow pokes " Bomin teased and ran faster before bumping into someone. " Ow " he fell to the floor as well as the person in front of him. " I'm sorry- Sunbae? " he apologised rubbing his as he realised who he bumped into.

Sungyoon groaned in pain and opened his eyes, boy wasn't he surprise to see Bomin. " Running in the hallways, huh? " he asked and Bomin chuckled nervously as they both got on their feet. " Detention after school " Sungyoon said and handed him a note and left. Bomin was about to protest but he disappeared even before he could say anything.

" Bomin! " his friends called out as they caught up with him, " What's that? Detention note? " Seungmin asked. " Yeah " he replied, " What happened? How'd you get it? " Youngtaek questioned but Bomin just ignored and walked into the cafeteria. They all sighed at his behaviour, " He hasn't told us anything ever since his detention. Is he keeping a secret from us? " 

" Maybe but if he doesn't wanna tell then that's fine. He's not ready " Jaehyun replied and they all sighed, following his lead. Their lunch was less cheerful than they would use to have but everyone said nothing and ate their meals. Once they were all done, they headed to their classrooms for the next classes. No one said anything on the way but they just ignored the silence and focused on their lessons.

AFTER SCHOOL (Detention)

Class had ended and students rushed to go home, that includes Bomin's friends. " Hey, wait up " he said. " Don't you remember? You have detention " Seungmin reminded as he stopped his tracks and looked at him. Bomin cursed under his breath, damn. I forgot, " Oh yeah, thanks for the reminder " he said as his friends turned back and walked out the classroom, leaving him alone.

He sighed, I should've been honest with them. Now look what I did, I hurt their feelings. Bomin thought to himself before leaving the classroom and headed to detention. He opened the door slowly and was surprise to see a familiar figure. " Daeyeol hyung? " he said and the said boy turned to look at him with a smile.

" Bomin! My fav dongsaeng, what are you doing here? " Daeyeol exclaimed in excitement. " I could ask you the same thing, what are you doing here, hyung? " the younger asked. " Got caught skipping class hehe. What about you? ", " Uhh haha I- " he was about to answer when Sungyoon walked in. " Who says you can talk in detention? Sit at your places and keep quiet ".

The two of them obeyed to his rules and sat at their seats as Sungyoon took a seat at the teacher's desk. He took out a book and began reading. While he wasn't looking, Daeyeol passed a note to Bomin who sat behind him. In the note, Daeyeol had drawn a picture of Sungyoon as a dragon. The two of them tried to contain their laughter at the picture but was interrupted when a figure stood between them.

" Ehem " he coughed as they stopped their laughter and looked away, the paper fell to the ground. Sungyoon noticed it and picked it up, Bomin and Daeyeol panicked. He opened the note and saw the ridiculous drawing inside, his blood boiled and turned to face the two tricksters. But when he was about to blow, he noticed that both had ran out the detention room. 

He held his breath and sighed, I'll let you two run this time but when I see you tomorrow, you'll get a huge surprise. He laughed evilly in his head and was about to leave when he noticed an object near the teacher's desk. It was Bomin's diary, he smirked and placed the diary in his bag before leaving the room.

WITH BOMIN & DAEYEOL

The two ran for their lives to avoid getting an earful from Sungyoon. Once they arrived at the school gate, they paused to catch their breath. " That was fun, I've never done that before " Daeyeol huffed and Bomin chuckled, " Do you think it'll be okay? I mean skipping detention that is " he asked. " Yeah, it's fine. Sungyoon will be fine with it, he'll forget about it tomorrow " Daeyeol reassured as he sighed in relief. 

" Mind if I walk you home? " the older offered and Bomin nodded, giving his usual smile as they left the school gate. 

THAT NIGHT 

Bomin had just finished washing up and unpacked his bags to do his homework, he ruffled through his bag to find his diary only for it to be gone. Where's my diary?! Don't tell I lost it! Oh no, where is it? He began to search his whole room for his diary but he couldn't find it anywhere. 

" Shit! Where did it go? Don't tell me it walked on it's own! " he shouted and started throwing stuff across his room. " Bomin! Choi Bomin! What are you doing? " his mother yelled from downstairs but he didn't hear it.

She sighed and climbed up the steps to his room, she knocked on the door but received no response so she opened the door to find his son in a messy room. " Choi Bomin! What is the meaning of this? Why is your room a mess? " his mother nagged. " O-oh hey, mom. I'm sorry for the mess, I'm just looking for my diary. Could you help me find it? I promise to clean up after that " he said with baby eyes.

His mother sighed and gave into her son's acts, " Alright, let's find your diary " she said and began going through his books while Bomin searched the shelves. After a long search, they found nothing and Bomin panicked. His mother noticed his expressions and hugged him, " Don't worry, son. I'm sure your diary is safe wherever it is "

He looked at his mother and sighed, hugging her as he soon fell asleep in her embrace. She heard soft snores coming from beside her and she smiled softly, she left a small kiss on his forehead before tucking him in and turned off the lights. His mother looked at him, a soft smile plastered on her face. 

My baby is all grown up, you used to be so small and would act silly. I'm proud of who you are my beloved son, I love you.
