Phlox had was one of many things. Reliable. She tried to be there for everyone who needed her. She knew that she couldn't always be there forever but she tried so hard. If she wasn't helping someone, she felt useless, a waste of space. That's why she tried so hard to impress her parents. She spent every moment she could working on the store. She needed it to be amazing, she needed to do well. For her parents. She had been skipping meals with the stress. Cheryl was quick to notice this and instead, she come to Pop for some food. Telling Cheryl no. Was a lot harder than she thought. So there she was, stuck with Cheryl and her two minions. (In phlox's opinion, she figured they would faze off soon.) The girl had gotten milkshakes while phlox got a double burger with onion rings and coke. She didn't realize how hungry she was till the smell of food hit her. Phlox ignored the disgusted looks she received as she happily ate her food. Cheryl smiled watching her best friend eat. It wasn't till Hermione, veronica's mom caught her attention did she pull away. "If I would have known mama lodge was working as a waitress at pop's, I never would have given Veronica a spot on the vixens." Sending Cheryl a warning look, phlox bit into an onion ring. She didn't mind veronicas mom. She understood she had bills to pay and mouths to feed. She didn't need unwanted opinions on her life. Choosing to ignore her friend she continued. "It's off-brand and sends a false message about acceptance." Phlox rolled her eyes softly before nudging Cheryl. "After her TMz-style take-down of chuck, all the Vixens kind of like Veronica now." Phlox didn't remember her name but she did now it started with an M or was it a K. She had a name. "Do they?" Hearing how tense her voice sounded, phlox pushed her food away and gripped Cheryl's hand under the table. At this moment Hermione had come over to get the money, before she could Cheryl slammed her hands on it. "Be sure to put all that cash in the register. You are a lodge, after all, and lodges are known to have sticky fingers " slumping her shoulders she turned to Cheryl. Who kept her focus on Mrs.Lodge. not wanting to see the disappointed look. Veronica seeing what was happened jumped up to help her mother. "Cheryl-" but before she could finish her mom cut her off. "Honey, I got this. Cheryl, I went to school with your mother. She didn't know the difference between having money and having class, either. " phlox body tense and she glared at Hermione. Did she deserve what Cheryl said? No. That doesn't give her the right to treat Cheryl that way. "Maybe not." taking her hand she picked up the cash and took Hermione's tip. The tip she laid there. "It didn't seem like you had class when you had money..only when you lost it." Signaling for Cheryl to stand, which she did and helped phlox out of the booth did she smile as Mrs.Lodge. the woman stared at phlox. Not knowing how to respond. "It's funny how that works. You don't realize what a terrible person you were. Till everything gets ripped away from you." Sending a smile towards Veronica, she pulled Cheryl away.  "Cheryl stop being a petty bitch. It makes our lives harder" she pinches Cheryl's arm. Smirking down at the smaller blond. "You love me." Smiling she nodded her agreement. As they neared the door, they see a sight that they didn't expect. Fred and Archie Andrews along with Riverdale own secret pedophile; Mrs. Grundy. "Phlox it's good to see you!" Fred said seeing the girl. Archie was already feeling uneasy about this tense even more. He ignored the concerning look Grundy sent him. "Hi. Mr.Andrews. Ms.Grundy" she smirked at the end. This unsettled grundy. She knew what phlox was capable of. "Did you enjoy the flowers?" Smiling at her music teacher she leaned closer to Cheryl. Who wrapped her arms around her. "Yes..they were lovely. " smiling brightly she looked at Cheryl and then back towards the "great.. I'll let you enjoy your evening." Feeling a little guilty about earlier she handed free the cash from earlier. "Please leave this for Hermione, I let my emotions get the better of me.." Pulling away from the confused man she and Cheryl left. Leaving behind the chaos.
