You and hawks were pro hero's- and best friends at that!

You recently beat your best friend and reached up to number 2! And poor hawks went down to number 3.

He wasn't mad, although you did feel bad for taking his spot.

But that didn't matter right now.

You two were eating lunch while on patrol, when news reporters came up to you.

You jumped back into the favoured red winged hero, Almost dropping your food but catching it in the nick of time!

"Nice catch baby bird"

You chuckle as you stood up straight.

"Thanks! You too bird brain"

You chuckled before your attention turned to the mic in your face.

"Um- hello? Something I can help you with?"

The two news reporters smiled.

They took the mic back and you were sure they wanted hawks- but alas you were wrong.

"How does it feel to be number two?"

You shrugged as the mic went into your face.

"Um. It's a lotta work I guess, I enjoy it though, and I still get to hang out with bird brain so I say it's a win win"

Hawks nodded, confused as they weren't asking him questions.

"We wanted to know if your were single or not. Some rumours have been going around saying you and hawks were having a hidden relationship, or you just were having a hidden one in general!"

They shove the mic in your face.

You turn to hawks and the both of you laugh, before looking at each other.

"I understand why they'd believe we are dating but- no we aren't. And no I'm also single, no secret dating- got no one but this idiot here"

You said patting his chest as you both chuckled.

The interviews nodded before you saw some children.

They looked nervous to come over.

You smiled and excused yourself before heading to the children.

-hawks's point of view-

I watch them leave.

God they were perfect-

"Hawks? What do you think about the rumours?"

I got snapped away from my thoughts.

"Ah well. I can kinda see what you all mean, but yea, it hasn't happened yet"

I chuckled, hoping I'd eventually make them mine.

"So you plan on asking them out"

I shrugged and chuckled.

"Not sure. They're perfect and I wouldn't mind dating them.. but I'm not sure if they want to date, especially me. Dating another hero would be difficult, especially for future things like kids and all"

The reporters nodded, before the one of them asks.

"Just to be clear. You aren't dating and aren't planning to ask them out soon? As in today or tomorrow?"

I nodded, smiling before I watched their eyes trail onto MY baby bird.

Now I knew what they meant...
