You and keigo were two different people. You hung out on your own most of the time, like the quiet and you also hated all of keigo's friends except one.

Keigo on the other hand, loved everyone, had an ego as big as the sun, loved being loud and the only people he didn't like was the ones who liked to pick on you.

Though you two hung out- all the time. The only time you were confident was when you were with him and the first time you snapped at him scared others.

"Shut up keigo! I'm trying to do something!" You shouted, watching his friends turn to you. Keigo only smirked, leaning closer.

"Make me"
He said quietly, his grin getting wider.

He thought he was funny but you just ended up taping his mouth shut, and he was to scared to take it off because of the hair he was growing.

Anddddddddd- That's the reason why keigo always shaved in highschool, because you did it more than once, only growing a stubble towards the end of the years for that same reason.

Yours and keigos friendship confused others. He would flirt and you would shut it out, or it would be a continuous flirting battle but never once did you think of dating him- it kind of felt like you were dating, but you weren't.

Like in chemistry once. Keigo had a thing for praises, loved them. His wings fluttered everytime, and if he went more then a week without any praises or just a little amount he did everything he could to get one.

In this class you were mixing sulphuric acid with water to show how well a certain filtering method worked.

Keigo wasn't doing anything, he didn't really like chemistry, but you hadn't praised him in a while for something so he was doing what he usually did.

"Do you need help?" "Can I do that?" "I'll hold it for you!" "Did I do it right?" "Relax I've got this!" Though of course you didn't let him do it on his own.

"Here. Filter the dirty water through here" you instructed him and he was excited to do anything to help. He did as you said.
It was a small job but it kept him busy while you put the burner on for the sulphuric acid mix.

"I did it! Did I do a good job?" He asked, his wings tensing and ready to flutter, his smile as wide as it could be.

You rubbed the top of his head and nodded, smiled.
"Yes keigo, you did a good job. Good birdie"

It always embarrassed you praising him in front of a class but his reaction was always worth it.

Though as you got older this never changed. You both became top heroes and often on news they'd capture those sorts of things, but the praising only worked when you did it as others found out, though that didn't stop him from flirting with others.

Heroes began noticing this behaviour and thought it was obvious.

"How are you guys not dating? You've been like this since highschool right? You have got to be dating!" One hero said and hawks shrugged.

"Nope! Just friends" he said turning to you and you nodded in agreement, not quite seeing what everyone else was seeing.

"Friends don't act the way you two do. Not even best friends" the hero stated before walking off and you two thought. Though it was shrugged off.
