You paced back and forth, with your phone in hand. You had a piece of paper with a number on it, you had the digits on the screen- all you had to do was hit the big green button.

"This is stupid-... but maybe I should? No I really should, it was probably just to be nice- no, why would they give their number to me if I didn't mean something? Maybe I'm overthinking this..." you fought with your self before your finger slid on the screen and hit the 'call' button-

Fuck! Hang up!

You quickly thought, your hands fumbling as you tried to hit the 'hang up' button.

Though- of course, before you could do anything they picked up.

You practically jumped hearing their voice.

"Heyyy! Hawks here, who's this?" He said in his usual upbeat tone.

"I- u-um it's y/n. We met last week?" You said, hoping he didn't forget or you'd die of embarrassment.

"Oh hey! The one from the gala yeah? I thought you'd never call. Got a bit nervous to be honest" he chuckled and you laughed a little.

"Sorry- I was just.. you know, deciding whether it was stupid to call you or not" you chuckled awkwardly and he laughed a little.

"Don't ever be shy calling me dove, I'm always free to talk to someone as cute as you~" he teased, you could basically hear his smirk on the other end as you blushed.

"Oh shut up." You mumbled followed by his light chuckle.

"Anyway dove. Wanna hang out? I can come to yours" he suggested while you heard faint flapping in the background.

"Oh uh-" you stopped, looking at yourself in the mirror near by.

You were in a tank top and some jeans, your hair wasn't the neatest and you looked quite tired. You had a few bits of jewellery but that wasn't enough to meet the pro-hero hawks in.

"I'm not really-... presentable at the moment..." you said honestly, clearing your throat and kind of hoping he would come over anyway.

"Trust me dove, I was just on a 9hr shift, I'm not looking the hottest right now either" he chuckled, still flying over to yours.

"Fine- if you think it's fine." You mumbled and before you knew it, hawks had hung up and was on his way to yours.

You knew he was fast so you ran for the brush. You brushed your hair, then wet your face in hopes to look fresher, then you went to change- but before you could hawks was at your door.

Knock knock

You heard and you sighed. You shifted to the door and opened it, embarrassed by the way you looked in that moment.

"Heyy-" he cut himself of by staring at you, up and down, taking in your looks and what you were wearing.

I knew this was a bad idea... he probably thinks I'm so fucking ugly right now...

You thought, before clearing your throat and actually looking at him. He had a faint blush over his face but you noticed it.

"Are you alright Hawks? Hot?" You asked, thinking it was because he was feeling hot.

"You lied- you said you werent presentable but fuck do you look good~" he hummed earning a blush and shocked look from you, As he leaned on the door frame, getting closer.

You looked away and mumbled as you spoke again.
"S-shut up and come I-in" you told him, opening the door wider for him.

He entered and you closed the door. He walked around and took in your clean house. You had been cleaning all day- which is why you looked tired, hot and sweaty.
