may 8,

chan told me to talk to jisung again. i didn't really tell him why i was on bad terms with him or even say who he was. i just brought it up and he spilled a plate of advice with no further questions.

i told him, 'if someone you trusted, broke your trust, would you forgive them if they owned up to it? jisung is the only person i felt different with. should i take him back into my life?'

chan then went on to say that if the other person acknowledged their mistakes, it would be okay to let them back into your life.

he believed in second chances.

'if you saw a bright, pretty flower slowly wilt, would you leave it alone and continue living with the thought of whether you could've made it bloom larger than before?

if you decide to take it as your own and provide it with water, sunlight, soil, and it turns back into a living flower again— not a flower desperately trying to survive, you'd feel this warmth in your heart, right?

if it doesn't show progress— turning brown, slouching lower and lower each day, leaves decaying, you would just let it go. you tried, yet it didn't have hope left. you gave it a second chance of life but it just couldn't go on.

would you feel empty ghosting jisung or would you take that chance to see if he could shine bright in your direction?'

i'll miss chan's wise words in december.
