Nineteen

Josie POV

It was finally Friday and I was waiting on the sentence, I had to wait for my father to make jail and then I can go on with my life.

"Are you ready?" Lizzie asked

I was still not talking to her because she wouldn't tell me what her and Hope had going on.

I just shrugged my shoulders and went to sit in the chair.

Soon it was time and my mom and sister was here and we were all by each other side.

"Josette and Elizabeth saltzman.. the judge will see you now" someone had said.

Me and Lizzie had followed him.

"Okay, I hear by grant Alaric saltzman full custody" the judge says

I wanted to cry... all over again.

Before the judge could m hit the gavel down the officer came into the room.

He said something to the judge.

"Okay, apologies.. I hear by grant Caroline Forbes-Bennett full custody and Alaric saltzman may revert to jail as of now with a 3rd degree" the judge says.

I got so happy me and my sister hugged and I hugged my mom.

I was way too excited.

When I walked out of the court room I saw Hope..

I'm handcuffs.

"What's going on?" I asked hope.

"Can't talk right now... but I had to do what had to be done" Hope says.

What was she talking about?

That's when the officer had her walked away.

"Mom!" I called as I ran up to her.

"Yes sweetheart?" She asked

"Hope is being locked up" I said

"What why?" My mom asked

"I know why.." I heard a familiar voice say.

I turned around and seen Landon.

"It's because your father" Landon says

"What do you mean my dad?" I asked

"Your dad made a deal with hope that if he throws the case then she has to go to jail along with him" he says

"But they wouldn't be in the same jail... right mom?" I asked

"No they wouldn't be he still wants you two far away from each other" he says

"Well that's not going to happen." I heard another familiar voice.

"You can't be here and you shouldn't be here" I said to maya.

"I could be any where I want and I'm here because Hope asked me to be here... it was all apart of the plan to make your dad think Hope would follow through with the plan but what Alaric doesn't know is Hope is the daughter of his boss.." maya says as she took a file out of her files.

"Meaning your father is about to go down for about 30 years in prison" Landon says to both Lizzie and I.

I don't know if I should jump for joy or jump for joy. This was the best news I heard in a while.

"So, what does this plan help with Hope?" I asked

"Hope will need to spend the night in 'jail' and then her mom should be able to pick her up tomorrow morning.. your father had already signed the papers stating that he did those terrible things and now he will be going to jail.. there's nothing he can do to get out early... they earliest he can get out is about 6 months from his sentence due time" maya says

"Someone had to put there big girl smart pants on" I said

"I hope this isn't flirting because we all know where they led you both... you should be happy that Hope is already trying to forgive both of you" Landon says

Forgive me? She said she would never forgive me... he knew something and I was about to find out.

"Landon what the hell are you talking about?" I asked

He shrugged his shoulders and walked off.

Flash back:

Lizzie POV

"Okay, well my sister loves music... that's basically all I know about her" I said

"Mmm, anything that I can actually work with?" Hope asked

"Well she was a huge fan of ukuleles when we were younger. My grandma liz had brought her one just before she passed away due to cancer... she had brought Josie it and Josie loved it with all of her heart but she couldn't keep it because my dad was low on rent so he took it and sold it... and she never got it back" I said

"Do you know where it can be now?" Hope asked

"That's long gone, my dad had sold it to some Museum about 5 more more years ago" I said

"That's great, so I just need to hope it can be found... how do you know the difference between that one and every other one?" She asked

"The one Josie had, it had my grandmother name carved in the inside" I said

"Mmm, thank you.. and for reward you can spend whatever you want on my black card" she says

"Damn... you rich like that?" I asked

"You can say I'm something like that" she says with a smirk before we arrived at the mall.

End of flashback.

"Ask your sister... she knows all about hopes devious plan" Landon says

"I do? Since when?" I asked

Hope POV

My plan wasn't entirely stupid but it was to teach them a lesson.

I still don't know if I could trust Josie and I damn sure don't know if I could trust Maya.

They are still trying to earn my trust and I admire that but I still don't know what it will take to trust them again.

I got out of so called jail and I felt tired as fuck.

I can explain everything later but it's not the first time me being in jail.

Except last time I was in jail it was for the same reason why my arm got broke in the first place.

I didn't break my arm in jail but that night was hell... and everyone might think Josie is cruel but that night was cruel... to the point I could have killed myself.
