I woke up to the chill of a cool breeze on my back, and to the same rhythmic sounds of the heavy water pouring from the falls behind me.

I blinked my heavy, sleep-filled eyes open, and pulled my head back slightly. I had fallen asleep, cocooned in Josh's arms against his chest, and he still was holding me strongly as he laid, still sleeping with his head resting on a sweatshirt that he must have pulled from his bag.

When I lifted my head up a bit more, I noticed a soft, light blue and white blanket draped over my legs. I couldn't help but smile at the thought of Josh laying it over me after I had fallen asleep when the air started to cool down as the day turned into early dusk.

I laid my head back down and looked up at Josh. His eyes moved gently, and his breathing was slow and heavy.

The sky had begun to darken slightly, and the sun was well behind the crescent wall surrounding us, indicating that I had been asleep for several hours.

Even though I didn't want to move from my comfortable spot with Josh, I knew I had to check the time and wake him up before it got any later. Or before I accidentally fell asleep due to the inviting warmth of being next to Josh.

I carefully wiggled out from his arms and lifted myself to my knees, pulling the blanket off of me and keeping my eyes on Josh to make sure I hadn't woken him up, even though I would need to in a minute anyway.

I leaned over and grabbed my bag that had been resting at our feet, pulled the top open, and grabbed my phone.

6:46

Jesus, I thought to myself, we must've slept for at least three hours.

I dropped my phone back in my bag and heard it hit against something hard. I dug around and pulled out the white polaroid I had stashed in there before we had left.

It still had two pieces of film left.

From my spot on the rock, I turned around and put the camera level to my eye, capturing the waterfall and beautiful area all around me. When the film picture rolled out of the top of the camera, I laid it against my hand and slid it into my bag.

I heard gentle stirring behind me and turned my head to see Josh sitting up and rubbing his eyes with one hand while propping himself up with the other.

"Is that the polaroid?" He asked with a smile as he scooted closer to me.

"Yeah," I replied, looking down at it in my hands, "still has one left,"

Get the hint, I thought to myself as I looked back up at him.

He reached out towards it, beckoning for me to hand it to him.

His gaze was drawn downward as he turned the camera over in his hands.

"Well, obviously we have to use it to take a picture together." He said, smiling up at me.

An exciting feeling filled me when he said exactly what I was thinking. I smiled and nodded, moving so that I was sitting directly beside him. I leaned into him, resting my head in the crook of his neck. He wrapped his free arm around my side and lifted the camera up in front of us so that the lens was facing our direction.

I smiled and waited for Josh to click the picture, and he finally did after having a bit of confusion as to where the button was. He dropped his hand down and took the picture out, handing it to me. I quickly turned it over and set it into my bag.

"Don't you want to see how it came out?" He asked when I closed the top of my bag securely.

"They take a white to fully develop, and it can mess up the exposure of the image if it's indirect light," I explained.
