Chapter 1: You Can't Catch Me!

"HAHA! BET YOU CAN'T CATCH ME, MAGNA!"

"OH I WILL! AND THEN YOU'LL REGRET STEALING MY PUDDING EVER AGAIN!"

Today was a normal day in the Black Bulls' Hideout. Charmy was stuffing her face, Vanessa was quenching herself with wine, Gordon was mumbling something about "friends", Gauche was nose-bleeding at a photo of his sister, Asta was getting over a thousand push-ups done, Grey had transformed into Asta and was doing push-ups with him, and I, Luck Voltia, was fighting against my best friend, Magna Swing.

It was really fun pulling pranks on Magna. Whenever I stole his pudding, he would get pissed off easily and fight me for it. He gets mad very easily, so it's very easy to get him to fight me. I love fighting people for many reasons.

But right now, I was dodging every fireball he threw at me while prancing around the base at lightning speed. Magna never caught me in a fight before. It was all in fun. None of our fights ever got really serious, it's usually just our way of playing around with each other or something. Other people usually don't understand that, but none of that matters to us. Us, the Black Bulls, are the one magic knight squad known for always causing havoc. It's what we do.

"SHUT UP RIGHT KNOW YOU INCONSIDERATE SWINES OR ELSE YOU'LL WAKE UP MY ANGEL, MARIE!!!" Gauche yelled at us.

Magna and I ignored him. Vanessa shushed Gauche. "Shut up, sister-lover. She's all you care about." She hiccuped.

Gauche held the photo close up to his face and rubbed it against it. "But she's an angel! My precious Marie! If only I could see you again! I know you might be wanting to see me too!" His nose began bleeding again.

Noelle stood there, grossed out at him. Charmy looked over at her and handed her a muffin. "HERE! EAT THIS! You need to eat so you have enough energy to go on! Eat!"

Noelle nodded and kindly took the food. "Th-thank you," She began nibbling on it.

Finral and Captain Yami walked out of Finral's portal, made with his spatial magic. "Hello everyo–" and before Finral could continue, one of Magna's fireballs was being shot in his direction. Finral yelped and jumped back, causing him to accidentally bump into the Captain while dodging the fireball that hit the wall instead. And of course...

...Captain Yami was pissed.

He put his cigarette back in his mouth and crashed his fist against the wall of the base. "YOU IDIOTS... STOP BREAKING EVERYTHING!!!" He demanded.

And at his demand, everything froze. Everyone in the Black Bulls respected Captain Yami dearly as their Captain and superior. They didn't like not following orders. The Captain let them play around a lot, but he would usually pick a time for our tomfoolery to end.

"C-Captain Yami! You didn't have to break down the whole wall like that!" Finral shrieked as we heard a thud as the wall broke down.

"Don't worry, Henry will fix it." Yami insisted.

"So every time you crash the wall down, it's suddenly 'Henry's responsibility'?!"

"Yep. What? You got a problem with it, Wheels?"

"U-uh... Just go on..."

I deactivated my lightning magic and stood on the ground, giving a playful glance at Magna with my tongue stuck out. Magna gave an annoyed glance at me, which was kind of funny. The rest of the Black Bulls also stopped what they were doing and turned to look at the Captain. Captain Yami smoked a bit from his cigarette before taking it out of his mouth and announcing what he came back to tell us.

"We had a word with Julius, since he wanted to see me. He gave us, the Black Bulls, an important mission. It's a tough one: some of you guys will be climbing a large mountain in order to obtain a hidden magic item. Yes, there's a pathway spiraled around it, but it gets narrower and narrower the higher you get. The mountain is too tall for anyone to be able to fly their brooms to the top. If we let the Diamond Kingdom get to the magic item first, then they'll have a large advantage over us. I'll assign this mission to the most agile of the Black Bulls, meaning the youngest. Asta and Noelle will be apart of it, but they can't go alone since they have no subordinates. Which is why I also assigned Magna and Luck to go as well to watch over them, since they are the second youngest members." Yami announced.

"Magna and Luck? You sure they're good to go on this extremely careful and risky mission? Are they even suitable for looking after Asta and Noelle and making sure they're safe?" Finral asked.

"Are you doubting my choices, Finral?!" Yami angrily asked him with a dark aura that was clearly irradiating from him. We could all feel it.

"N-no sir!" Finral responded, scared of what Captain Yami would do to him.

Yami calmed down, put the cigarette in his mouth, took it out, and released smoke before proceeding. "Besides, the decision has already been made. I trust Luck and Magna will do a good job. Those two may be reckless idiots, but they somehow find a way to never end up getting killed. They'll be fine. Anyways, I said I needed someone young and agile, right? These two are the best options available." He turned to Magna and I. "You two are going to do the job well, right?"

Both me and Magna did the three-leaf salute, where we have only three fingers sticking out of our hands and hold it against our chests. "Yes, sir!"

"Asta and Noelle, you too." The Captain turned to them.

"Yes, sir!" They both did the same salute.

"Good. I trust you." The Captain smirked. Finral still looked like he doubted Captain Yami, so the Captain turned to him again. "What? Do you want to go on the mission?"

"Of c-course not! I don't want to go on an extremely dangerous mission where we could all die!" Finral panicked.

"Then shut up or I'll make you go with 'em." Yami coldly told him.

"F-fine, fine!" Finral said in a scared tone.

"BEFORE YOU GO, MAKE SURE TO EAT A GOOD MEAL!" Charmy said as she began stuffing a loaf of bread into Asta's mouth.

I was laughing.

"Uh... Mi Carmy? I areaey ae i ornin–" Asta tried talking with his mouth full.

"You idiot! Don't speak with food in your mouth!" Noelle said.

Asta took a bite of the bread that was in his mouth, swallowed it, and held the bread in his hand. "I already ate this morning, Miz Charmy–"

"WELL, YOU'LL NEED TO EAT LOTS! LA!" Charmy said, once again stuffing the bread loaf in his mouth.

"Finral, take them to the nearest place to the mountain, since you probably haven't been there yet." Yami said.

"Alright, I know a place very close to those mountains that I have marked." Finral sighed and lifted his arm to open a portal.

"Thanks, Mister Finral!" Asta said as he dashed off into the portal.

Noelle, Magna, and I followed him into the portal. This mission's going to turn out great! I wonder what cool bad guys I might get to fight there?
