We exited out of the portal.
"So this was Finral's best option?" Noelle asked as they were standing in the middle of a forest.
I widened my mana sensing abilities a bit. It was said that I can sense mana better than anyone in the whole Kingdom. Captain Yami said that if it weren't for my personality, all of the Magic Knights' Captains would be fighting over me. I was waiting until I found a mana change in the air.
"THIS PLACE IS HUGE THOUGH!" Asta gasped.
"Keep it down, will you? If anything is lurking in this unknown forest, then it will find us because of it!" Noelle whispered.
"Shhh..." Magna gestured as he began paying attention to me. He knew that I was trying to focus on the mana in the area. No one knows me as much as he does besides myself.
I then brought myself back to reality. "The mana is different close from here. I think the mountain may be..." I pointed in one direction. "That way!"
"Alright, then let's go that way then. C'mon," Magna said as he gestured with his hand for Asta and Noelle to follow.
"Why are you telling me what to do? I'm royalty." Noelle flipped her hair back.
"Is this the right time for you to be difficult, 'Miss Royalty'?!" Magna argued.
"I'm just putting that out there, Mohawked Delinquent."
"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU CALLING A 'DELINQUENT'?!"
Asta held his hands shyly in front of him, as a small effort to calm them down. "G-Guys– no fighting please–"
I, on the other hand, was having fun watching them argue. "Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!" I chanted jokingly.
"Why, Luck?!" Asta exclaimed.
I laughed in response. Today was going to be a long day.

We finally ended up in the place beyond the forest. We all looked up at the large mountain beyond us. "It's HUGE!" Asta commented.
"Yeah, I'll agree with you on that." Magna's voice sounded like he was trying to sound prideful, but it came out more shaky than he probably would've hoped.
"What is it? You scared, Magna?" I teased.
"No, I'm not! Get back here, you idiot!" He snapped as I activated my lightning magic in case he decided to chase me around or something.
"We should get going and start climbing as soon as possible so we can get this over with quickly." Noelle suggested.
"Yeah, for once in your life, you're right, princess." Magna sighed as he teased.
"Silence or I'll tell my brother on you." She narrowed her eyes.
"Now you're using Mister Braided-Hair Fancy-Schmancy Captain of the Silver Eagles against me?! Wow, playing 'unfair' here." He rolled his eyes.
"C'mon, guys! I wanna get straight to battle!" I said as I abruptly grabbed Magna's arm and tugged it towards the direction of where the mountain was.
"Who said we were fighting anyone??? And let go of my arm!!! I can walk, you know!!!" Magna snapped.
My only response was a playful laugh as all four of us headed towards the mountain. As we got to the foot of the mountain, we heard a voice calling out to us. "Hello! Never thought I'd ever find people here!"
The four of us turned and saw a boy head towards them. "Who are you?" Magna asked.
"Ah, that was rude of me. I forgot to introduce myself first. Silly me. My name is Clovis Andino and I'm 18 years old. I was kind of... stranded here. No place to go. So it was a surprise to see people actually going around in these parts. May I ask if you all introduce yourselves too? I hope we can be friends!"
Magna began. "Oh sure. I'm Magna Swing and this is Luck Voltia. We're both 18 as well." Then he pointed at Asta and Noelle. "And these two are Noelle Silva and Asta. They are both 15."
"Nice names! So you two are the same age as me!" Clovis said as he smiled and pointed at Magna and I. "That's really cool!"
"So how did you end up here?" Asta asked as he tilted his head.
Clovis began talking fast like he was so excited to meet all of us. "Well... you could say that I was somehow abandoned here. Long story. Not like I live anywhere... Are those Magic Knights' robes?! Oh, how I always wanted to join the Magic Knights! But I'm just a peasant who wasn't accepted into a squad during the Entrance Exams..."
"Oh, I'm a peasant too." Magna said.
"SO AM I!" Asta yelled with his obnoxiously loud voice.
"Really?! And you two were accepted? How did you do it?!" Clovis asked them.
"Well, an old man I knew convinced me to try for the Magic Knights, so I did it, and coincidentally, our Captain chose me to be in his squad and no one else at that time. It made me feel special. Wouldn't have happened if it weren't for the guy who made me who I am today." Magna said pridefully.
"OOH, AND I DON'T HAVE ANY MAGIC AT ALL!" Asta yelled.
"Really?!" Clovis looked surprised. "A Magic Knight without any magic?! I never heard such a thing before! Could you tell me more on how you became one?"
"Sure! I was blessed with anti-magic, a power that can negate and cut through magic! I was accepted by the Captain when I destroyed a guy's magic barrier during the Entrance exams... I barely made it into the Magic Knights! Glad I could make it though!" Asta smiled and laughed.
"Anti-magic??? That's new. I had never seen that before. Do you mind showing it to me sometime?" Clovis asked.
"Of course! Would you like to come along with us up the mountain for our mission?" Asta asked.
"Dorksta! Why would you suggest someone you just met to risk his life on a dangerous mission with us?!" Noelle snapped at him.
"I don't see a problem with it." I said with a silly smile.
"Neither do I." Magna agreed.
"Ooh! I'd love to!" Clovis said.
Noelle rolled her eyes. "I guess everyone's in this dumb plan but me..."
"C'mon, Noelle! It'll be fun!" Asta said as he grabbed her arm.
Noelle's face turned red. "What are y-you doing, Stupidsta?!"
"Taking you up the mountain! Let's go!"
"I can walk!"
And from there, us four Black Bulls and Clovis, our new friend, began climbing the mountain. This is going to be so much fun!
