"So you ran your mouth like a bastard without my damn permission, right, Kid?!" Yami said in an angry tone as he strongly held Asta up by the head like he was going to crush his skull.

"SORRY, CAPTAIN YAMI SIR!!! PLEASE LET GO OF ME– I'M GONNA DIE–!" Asta yelled.

We were back at the base. The Captain was now scolding Asta because it was his idea that Clovis stays with us. Asta... was getting the worst out of it.

"I understand if you don't want me to be here..." Clovis said in an ashamed tone.

Yami smoked. "Nah, you can stay. You'll have to earn my approval first if you're really going to join us for real. I was just trying to give the Kid a hard time."

"YOU WHAT?!" Asta was mad.

"O-oh, thank you, sir!" Clovis smiled.

"Don't need to be all formal with me. Just call me Captain Yami. I don't really like formality."

"Oh, apologies, Captain Yami!"

"HEY! WHO THE HELL STOLE MY PUDDING FROM THE COUNTER?!" Magna's voice came from the kitchen.

I giggled. He obviously knows it's me. "Who do you think it was?" I stuck my tongue out jokingly.

"YOU'RE GOING TO PAY FOR THAT, YOU THIEF!" Magna brought out his grimoire and we began sparring again.

"Haha!" I zoomed around, dodging all of his fireballs. It was so much fun.

We kept fighting for a few minutes, until Clovis interrupted. "Hey, Magna? Can I ask you a question?"

Magna deactivated his grimoire and looked at him. "Yeah, sure."

I stood on the ground and deactivated my lightning magic, looking at the two. Clovis began asking Magna something, and I didn't bother to listen. It wasn't really any of my business. Until I heard... "Oh, did you know my last name means 'manly'?!"

"Really?!"

I decided to let them talk and I turned around to leave for my bedroom. Well... I'd love to stay... but Magna doesn't seem to be in the mood for fighting right now. I sort of don't want to intrude on their conversation... which is a new feeling for me.

It was dinner for the whole squad. "EAT UP, EVERYONE! ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO WENT ON THAT DANGEROUS MOUNTAIN MISSION!!!" Charmy said, once again stuffing Asta's face. But not with bread, it was steak this time.

"Ooh! I'd love to drink some booze to wash all of this food down!" Vanessa said as she ate and drank from her bottle of wine.

Gauche grabbed his picture of his sister. "Oh my precious darling angel, Marie! If only I could share this delightful meal with you!" His nose began bleeding again.

"D-don't l-l-look at m-me!" Grey said as she covered her face and transformed in embarrassment.

Gordon was mumbling. And who in Clover Kingdom knew what he was saying?

Finral sighed. "This squad..." He muttered.

Noelle was probably one of the only people eating normally, and was disgusted at some of the others.

I looked at Magna and Clovis. Magna... would usually sit beside me... but now he's sitting across from me at the table, sitting beside Clovis. Clovis was telling him many stories and Magna was listening and enjoying them. It made me feel sick to my stomach. My heart felt a pang of jealousy. I need to stop that! Jealousy is an awful feeling especially towards my best friend! I should be happy that he's happy, right? Apparently, at this point, my heart didn't want to listen to my brain.

I didn't realize I was staring into space at them until Charmy brought me back to reality. "Hey, why aren't you eating any of the food I prepared for you?"

"O-oh, sorry. I was just... thinking about something." I said as I began to eat. Charmy nodded and then walked away.

The more I looked at Magna and Clovis, the faster butterflies flew around in my stomach. They didn't seem to notice that I was staring at them, though. Which was good to say the least. I suddenly felt... left out. I shouldn't feel this way... and I really don't want to... I want to be happy for him that he made a new friend... but I have to admit...

...It makes me feel lonely.

Or maybe I'm just overreacting a little bit. There's no way I could get jealous over something like this. Maybe this is just a trivial matter not needing of serious treatment.

"Luck? Are you alright? You look spacey today..." Vanessa asked me.

"I'm fine." I stood up and pushed my chair back.

"Where are you going?" Finral asked.

"To bed." I answered.

"This early? I never thought you'd ever go to bed this early."

"Well, there's a first time for everything, right?" My voice's tone sounded bored and no one could believe that I was the one who said that. They could obviously tell that there was something off about my personality and the way I felt. Didn't matter to me, though.

Vanessa walked over to me and put her hand to my head. "Are you sick?"

"I said I'm fine–"

"No... you're heating up! You're definitely sick!"

I am?

I just noticed that my head was hurting and my throat was sore. I was too caught up in my jealousy that I didn't take notice. "Huh...?" I was confused.

"You need to be in bed! Come this way!" Vanessa grabbed my arm and ran to my room. I didn't think she'd react this much when I'm ill...

She set me on the bed. "I told you... I'll be fine." I began to feel dizzy.

"No, you're not. Now lay down. I don't think it's serious, but you need to be rested up and cured completely before you can do anything. Isn't that right?"

"Yeah..." I replied weakly. Since when was I sick? It probably started around when I was fighting Magna. I knew I felt a sore throat. I just didn't pay any attention to it. This was probably one of the worst times to be sitting in bed with a fever.

Why now...?
