I was relaxed and Magna was ranting about how I electrocuted him. But the worst part wasn't over. It really wasn't.
Clovis walked in through the hole in the door. I wasn't ready for any more of his tricks. Magna turned to glare at him. "What are you doing here?! And how did you escape my binding spell?!"
"How unfortunate," Clovis indirectly responded. "So you both are all buddy-buddy with each other now?! You must have been a horrible friend if you left him crying like that while you were hanging out with someone else who never really liked you at all. Guy was having the worst two weeks of his life because of you. And you told him you didn't want to see his face ever again after he tried telling you the truth. How unfortunate,"
Magna stood up and stood in front of me. "I know, I wasn't only a horrible friend, but a horrible person in general. And I didn't need you telling me that."
Then there was a familiar voice from the other side of the door. "G-Guys... I couldn't..." Finral slowly walked in and collapsed. The state he was in was awful. He was bruised and his clothes were torn.
"Finral!" Vanessa called as she ran towards Finral to take a look at him. "He doesn't look good..."
"Mister Finral!" Asta yelled.
Vanessa tried picking him up slowly. "Finral, what happened?"
Finral slowly raised his head to meet all of our gazes. "I... couldn't stop... him..."
Vanessa looked over to Clovis. "You hurt him, didn't you?!"
"He was just getting in my way." Clovis shrugged.
The tears that had been falling down my cheeks had dried up, so I used my sleeve to wipe them off. I knew Clovis was savage, but not this savage to harm someone who's older than him and not only people his age.
"Alright. You took this too far!" Asta said in an angry tone, getting ready to transform into his Black form and fight Clovis.
Noelle stopped him. "Hang on, you might hurt someone by accident. This is a small room. Just wait."
"No one harms a squadmate or brother of mine." Vanessa said to Clovis menacingly.
"Well, that's what happens when you make awful decisions." Clovis sang.
"He's right. The choices I made were awful... but Finral doesn't deserve this... and neither does Luck." Magna confessed. "So please, don't do anything to them. I was the one who deserved it most. So..."
"Magna... don't..." I said.
"...huh...?!" Finral breathed out.
"Such a foolish guy you are, Magna." Clovis smirked as he brought out his grimoire. "So how do you want to go about this? Are you willing to sacrifice your life for theirs?"
"Well..." Magna shook.
"Magna, don't do it..." I begged. "It was his fault, not yours."
"I'll do it. If it means you won't hurt anyone else in our squad." Magna had a cheeky look on his face.
I was shocked. There's no way Magna wants to sacrifice his life for us. I know him well, and he's literally afraid to die in the first place! This can't be happening...
"Really? That's new." Clovis appeared to have found it amusing. He walked towards Magna, with his grimoire still out.
"Mister Magna...?" Asta said, his voice trailing off.
Clovis's grimoire was flipping pages. "I'm grateful for your choice. I wouldn't want to leave this place without killing someone first."
Magna stood up straight. He didn't look scared, not at all. Unlike usual. He looked rather... calm. I want to stop him. I'd really like to. But if I know Magna well, there's something beneath that strong posture. I couldn't see Magna's face, since he was standing in front of me, but I could tell that if anyone were to stop him, it'd ruin whatever he had in mind. I really didn't want Magna to harm himself in any way.
"This is amusing." Clovis chuckled. "You're ready for this?"
"Yep. Hit me with all you got." Magna breathed. I could literally hear his breathing intensify from where I was sitting behind him.
It was tense. We felt a dark aura from every corner of the room. Clovis is definitely serious about this. Vanessa was staring in shock at what Magna was about to sacrifice. Finral was shocked too, and was barely able to hold himself up as he was kneeled on the ground. I shook. Clovis's power was no joke.
In fact, I don't think that Clovis has ever told us his social standing. Is he a peasant like Magna or a commoner like me? No... not at all. His power is much more powerful for him to be born in either the Forsaken or Common Realms. He... must be a noble. Yeah, that's it. That power... he can't be a royal, since he isn't in the three royal families: The House of Silva, The House of Vermillion, and The House of Kira... so he must be a noble. Andino... I might've heard of that Noble House before. But from where?
