Magna looked at him with narrowed eyes. "Luck?"

Asta nodded. "Yep... Have you seen–"

"Why would I know and care about wherever the hell he went?!" Magna snapped unintentionally.

"H-huh?" Asta was confused.

"That jerk... he tried lying to me yesterday."

"He lied to you?"

"Yeah."

"What did he say?"

Magna made sure that Clovis wasn't listening. "He said that Clovis wanted to kill me. Can you believe him? That damn bastard."

"He really said that?!" Asta was shocked. "But surely Luck wouldn't say something like that without a reason... it's not like him at all."

"Well, his reason is obviously an act of jealousy. The selfish brat probably didn't like how I was getting closer to Clovis nowadays." Magna rolled his eyes.

"I think... Luck might have had a good reason for it. I know that he wouldn't lie to make you mad..."

"He might've changed or this might've been how he was since the beginning. You never know."

"But this isn't like him...!" Asta argued.

"This isn't like who?" Noelle asked as she joined the conversation.

"Luck. Mister Magna's saying he lied to him." Asta told her.

"I mean, there's no way what he said was true." Magna shrugged.

"What did he say?" Noelle asked.

"And why would you wanna know, Miss Royalty?!" Magna snapped.

"I'm just being curious, you mohawked delinquent!" Noelle said back.

"And how many times have I told you to stop calling me that?!"

"You have to stop calling me names before that could happen!"

"Guys, guys... calm down." Asta tried settling them down.

"My head hurts from staying around here. I'll go to my room now." Magna said as he walked away.

"Alright then!" Asta responded.

"Yeah, see you." Noelle said.

Magna waved to them and headed towards the Base. Clovis walked up to Noelle and Asta. "Oh, where's he going?"

"He's going to his room." Noelle answered.

"Ah," Clovis nodded slightly.

Asta looked over at Noelle and then back at Clovis awkwardly.

"I'll go check on him." Clovis said with a smile as he walked towards the base.

A few seconds after Clovis had gone inside the Base, Charmy walked out the door. "EVERYONE! FOOD'S READY!"

At her command, they all went inside the Base. "Oh, thank you, Miz Charmy." Asta thanked.

"MAKE SURE TO EAT LOTS!!! LA!" Charmy encouraged.

"I think we're missing some people..." Finral pointed out.

"Oh, they went somewhere else in the Base. I'm sure they'll come to eat with us later." Noelle said.

"Right..." Finral nodded slowly.

Vanessa wrapped an arm around Finral's shoulders. "It's okay, Fin. You don't need to worry. Have a glass with me, will ya?" She hiccuped, holding up a bottle of wine.

"Sure," Finral said nervously as he grabbed a glass.

I was still stuck in the room. I felt numb everywhere. Still stuck in his binding spell. I was as cold as ice. It was freezing. I didn't know what to do. I felt drowsy.

Why did this have to happen? Why? I partly blame myself for this. For my idiocy. I was dumb enough to fall for his trap. But Magna was so geniously manipulated, so I wouldn't blame him for it. I know most of this should be Clovis's fault, but I should've known better.

This sucks... this really sucks. Now I'll have to die here alone... I just want to go back to the old days... where Magna and I fought each other jokingly... and when we were best friends. I'm longing for those days again. But I might die here before that could happen. Clovis is right: there's no hope of escape. If people forget me that easily, then I might not be getting out at all.

I felt more drowsy with every second. I was so numb and frozen to the point where I couldn't even feel my body anymore. My eyes no longer wanted to stay open. My eyes slowly and slowly closed by each minute that passed by...

...until I closed my eyes for real and everything around me blackened.

Magna was in his room, looking in the mirror. He took off his glasses. "I need to clean these filthy things..." He muttered in an irritated tone.

"Hey, Magna!" Clovis's voice made Magna jump.

"You don't need to creep up on me like that!" Magna snapped.

"Sorry," Clovis said and had his hands positioned behind his back. "I was wondering if we could... y'know... train more together after dinner? If you're not busy... that is."

"Sure." Magna turned around towards the opposite corner of the room. "I'll need to grab something first..."

"Alright, take your time." Clovis smiled.
