Chapter 16: Comfort Zone

"Do you wanna hear something crazy?"

Magna stared at her inquisitively. "Vanessa, this really isn't the time–"

"Knock the door down."

"What?!"

"You heard me. Knock it down."

"But what if I accidentally hit him with the door?! We wouldn't want any accidents!"

Vanessa pinched her chin. "Hmm... you're right. Then use your flame magic to burn the door. It's the only way we'll be able to get into the room."

"But what if I cause a fire?"

"You're worrying too much!" Vanessa snapped.

Both Noelle and Asta walked towards them. "Idiot, if you cause a fire, then I can put it out with my water magic. Go ahead." Noelle said as she rolled her eyes.

"C'mon, Mister Magna!" Asta encouraged.

"You guys might be expecting too much, but I'll do it anyway." Magna spawned fire over his fingerless gloves. He used his magic on the door, and as a result, the door had a big hole in it. Noelle put out the extra flames that didn't go out using her magic.

"See? What did I tell you?" Vanessa teased.

"Shut up." Magna said and he went through the large hole in the door. What he saw was Luck, eyes closed in an ice binding spell, leaned against the wall. Magna walked towards him and bent down. "Crap..."

The other three followed him. "He's alright... is he?" Asta asked.

No one answered his question. Magna unleashed his flame magic and melted the ice that was containing him. "Luck?"

All I could see was darkness. For some reason, I no longer felt cold anymore. I felt... warm. Am I dead? Am I... no, I can't be. It doesn't feel that way, not at all. I heard a soft voice. "Luck?"

I slowly opened my eyes. The first person I saw was... Magna. My first instinct was to hug him tightly and cry. "Magna..!"

"Huh?!" Magna seemed confused as to why I was hugging him. That didn't matter. Not at all.

"You're... not dead...! I... can't believe it..." I breathed out. It seems like the cold ice that I was trapped in for two days has something to do with the way I was talking right now.

"Luck... I..." Magna began, trying to hold back tears, but he couldn't help it, so a small amount of tears began falling down his face. "...I'm so sorry... I messed up. I really did. I shouldn't have befriended that damn fake in the first place. I feel awful... I bet I made you feel awful too. I shouldn't have said anything that I said to you, and I shouldn't have called you a liar..." He hugged me back, really tight.

Vanessa was standing there watching with a smile on her face. Noelle and Asta were there too and looked happy that everything was okay.

"It's okay, Magna... I forgive you." I smiled. After that, I decided to have a little fun. A minute through the hug, I shocked him with my lightning magic. "Haha!"

"YOU IDIOT, WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" Magna asked in an irritated tone.

"You chicken!" I laughed.

"You'll take that back–!" Magna angered and all I did was laugh at him. It was fun to be able to tease Magna again. I felt so much better. Without Magna, I always felt like a whole part of me was missing. I can even have fun with the rest of the Bulls too.

This was my comfort zone.
