CHAPTER 14

You grinned. "Screw off, boys."

You rubbed your arms, your teeth shattering a bit. All the dragons of Lonebreeze had gathered around your cave in the middle of the isle, trying to keep each other warm. Heatwave and Nori were undoubtedly doing the worst, having to constantly swim in circles to keep the river at least a bit open for themselves.

You sat in between Glacier, Dalfon and Leaf, a fire in front of you three at the entrance of the cave.

Death was laying out of the cave on the ground, Dusk had curled up near the river and Chameleon was on a tree right on the cave. "Death? Couldn't you light yourself on fire?" you asked. "That would give warmth to everyone outside too."

"Oh yeah," he said, blue fire emerging from his skin a second later.

"Woah," you smiled, "I can feel the heat from here. I guess blue fire is hotter than regular fire."

"Mhm," he nodded, "Although I haven't seen any other Monstrous Nightmares with blue fire."

You tapped your chin in thought, looking around the cave, your eyes landing on the Book Of Tame And Tameless. "I have an idea. Are you all ready to get two pages of the book to yourself? Although, Nori, you'll just get your own drawing and share pages with Heatwave."

"Of course!" Dusk cheered.

It had been a few days and the freeze was starting to end and you were closer with all the dragons on Lonebreeze and you had also worked out a system for living together like that - Heatwave and Nori handled the fish and Death made sure to keep everyone warm. You kind of liked just hanging out like that.
