I unlocked the door and pushed it open enough for him to grab the handle. I stepped back a few feet again as he walked in. I wanted distance just in case he tried something, then I might have a chance to run. Once he was inside he put his hood down. He had dyed his hair the last time I saw him up close, his hair was now blonde. He actually looked really good.

Stop It! He tried to kill you and will probably try again!

"Here alone?" Stu asked. "Obviously. Or I wouldn't have opened the door," I said. I was trying to act hateful, like I didn't want anything to do with him. But my whole body felt like it was on fire. I wanted to just wrap my arms around him and never let go. But I couldn't do that. That would be wrong and fucked up. "What do you want, Stu? I need to finish locking up and call my dad to come get me," I said. "I can take you home," he said, quickly. I shook my head and walked towards the back to lock the door and turn off the lights. "Absolutely not! I'm not stupid, Stu!" I yelled. I locked the door and shut the lights off. When I turned around Stu was right in front of me.

"Fuck!" I stepped back towards the door. "Sorry," he mumbled and stepped back out into the store. Once I grew the nerve to move I walked out past him. "What is it going to take for you to believe me when I say I'm not going to hurt you?" He asked. "Nothing. God, Stu! What can't you get about this? You killed people, tried to kill me and Sidney, and now you're hiding from the cops.This--'' I gestured between us. "Isn't going to happen. It can't happen. It can't be like it was before!" I yelled. He stepped towards me and I stepped back. "Baby--" he whispered. "Can I please take you home and I'll explain everything. And I mean everything. How it started and why?" He asked.

The phone at the front desk rang so I walked over and picked it up. "Bradly's Video," I answered. "Y/N. Sweetie?" I looked over at the clock to see it was five past ten. "Hey, dad. I was just going to call you," I said. "Is Karen still there?" He asked. "Umm... no she left about twenty-five minutes ago. Why?" I asked. "Okay. I have to leave. They need me to come to the expo in New York. I can call Dewey and ask him to pick you up. Is that Okay? You know what I'll just call them and tell them I can't--" I cut his rambling off. "No dad, that's okay. A friend actually stopped by, that's why I didn't call right away," I told him. "Are you sure?" He asked. "I'll be fine, dad. You have to work. And if I need anything I'll call Dewey," I said.

I was looking at Stu as I talked to my dad. "Alright. I should be home Saturday. I'll leave the number of the hotel and everything. The keys and money will be on the kitchen counter. I love you," he said. "Okay. Bye. Love you too," I said and hung up. Stu was trying to hide the smile that was pulling at his lips but he was failing. "Shut up! This means nothing! Understood?" I pointed a finger at him. He nodded his head, flipping his hood up. I walked around the corner, shut the lights off, and then we walked out the door. I turned around locking the door. Stu had the passenger side door open waiting for me to get in. I took a deep breath and slowly made my way to the car.

On the car ride back to my house I noticed Stu was about to take the long way. "What're you doing?" I asked. "It's a ling story," he said. I sighed as I fought with myself about just letting him take the long way or tell him my dad was going away. "My dad had to leave for New York. You can just-- and this stupid of me to do, but you can just take me home and found an come in, tell me the story, and fucking leave. I'm only doing this because I know you won't fucking stop," I told him.

We made it back to my house and Stu pulled into the driveway. "I'll go in and open the garage. Pull in next to my dad's car," I told him. "Why?" He asked. "Because, Stuart, I don't need Dewey driving by and seeing a random car in my driveway," I told him. I got out of the car, and walked to the side door to the garage. Once inside I pushed the button on the wall and the garage door opened. We only had one car so there was an empty spot next to it. Stu slowly pulled in and shut his car off. I pressed the button again and waited for the door to close all the way. "Come on," I said and headed to walk inside.

I walked up the stairs towards the main floor of the house, Stu close behind me. I placed my bag on top of the kitchen counter right beside the keys, money, and a note from my dad.

This is the hotel I will be at and the expo center with the numbers. Call them if you can't reach me on my cell phone. Dewey knows you're alone until Saturday and will be coming around to check on you. Give him a call at the station to let him know you made it home. Love you

I grabbed the phone off the hook and dialed the police station number. "Hey, Dewey. I'm just calling to let you know I'm home," I told him when he answered. "Alright. Thanks, Y/N. Do you need anything?" He asked. "Nope. I'm good. I think I'm just going to go to bed," I told him. Stu was leaning over the counter watching me. "Alright. Well, I'll be here all night so just call if you need anything," Dewey said. "I will. Bye." I hung up the phone and looked at Stu. "What?" I asked. He shrugged, a smile on his face, "nothing. You're just beautiful," he said. I kept my face expressionless even though the flutter of a million butterflies was going crazy in my stomach.

"Shut up. Just start talking and I'll make us something."
