"Tell me about your friends?"

Cathal furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as he looked over at the girl beside him. They both sat perched on the window of the astronomy tower, where they had agreed to meet over the weeks since their first night there. He sat with his legs dangling over the ledge as she leaned against the frame, her legs placed in his lap. Over the few weeks that they had been meeting for, Narcissa had begun to feel more and more comfortable around the boy. At first she had been hesitant, untrusting, but she found herself beginning to open up more, whether she liked it or not.

Narcissa rolled her eyes playfully at him, "Oh come on, don't give me that look. I'm curious."

With a smile Cathal shrugged his shoulders, "I mean, I'm not entirely sure what to tell you. Mathias is in our year, bit of a lad, if you know what I mean," laughing he shook his head slightly, "Alice and Frank are both seventh years, they've been dating for awhile now. Alice is never one not to speak her mind, she's incredibly blunt and Frank is practically the complete opposite. Don't get me wrong, he's outspoken, but he tends to think a bit more before he says something. He's a bit of a softie, but I reckon that's why Alice fell so hard for him."

Narcissa smiled softly as Cathal talked about his friends, his love for them clear in the way he spoke, "They sound lovely."

"They are," he replied, before turning to her with a grin, "what about you?"

"What about me?" She asked, eyebrows knitting together in confusion.

"Your friends, what are they like?" He prompted, hazel eyes sparkling in the moonlight.

Narcissa pursed her lips thoughtfully as she turned her gaze away from Cathal and to the Hogwarts grounds, "There isn't really much to tell. The only one I really consider to be my friend is Aaron, I suppose, " Narcissa stated hesitantly before quickly adding, "but there's also Vivian and Ivory, it's complicated though."

"Complicated how?" Cathal pressed, excited that she was finally beginning to open up. It was rare for Narcissa to ever mention anything about her life and Cathal didn't want to let this opportunity pass.

"Well, we all basically grew up together. Aaron and I have been friends for as long as I can remember, " Narcissa explained softly, "we've always been there for each other. However, things are different now," she explained a sadness that broke Cathal's heart in her voice, "ever since Andromeda left, I've been different. It's like we have this barrier between us, this uncertainty, and neither of us knows how to break past it."
