"Alright students, that's enough for today, I expect your essay on everlasting-elixirs first thing next class," Slughorn clapped his hands together, a smile on his face, despite the groans that sounded throughout the room. Nobody wished to write the essay, Narcissa perhaps least of all.

She began packing her things away, a smile on her lips as Cathal purposefully brushed past her, his fingers secretly grazing hers for only a moment.

"Oi, Black," glancing up she saw Aaron and Vivian waiting for her by the door, quickly shoving her book into her bag, she hurried over to them. Vivian and her had somehow gotten much closer after their night on the grounds, the secrets they held for each other creating a bond that had not been there before, "do you think they'll serve Shepherd's Pie at lunch, I've been craving it for a week," the dark haired girl groaned, her red lips forming a pout.

"You always crave it, V." Aaron teased slightly, his eyes rolling. Flipping him off, Vivian slyly turned her attention to Narcissa.

"How are you and Donovan then, Black?" She smirked, causing Narcissa's cheeks to flush as she quickly glanced around the hall. Shooting a glare at the girl, Narcissa resisted the urge to roll her eyes.

"We're great, but I'd prefer if you didn't go around whispering about it in the halls," she snapped back.

Aaron and Vivian both gave her amused smiles as Aaron slung his arms over their shoulders, "oh the joys of pure blood egotism, am I right ladies?"

"Oh shove off," Narcissa laughed as they continued their journey towards the Great Hall.

Ever since she had ended things with Lucius and began things with Cathal, Narcissa had been happier. She felt free, as if she could finally breathe and allow the weight of the world to fall off her shoulders, it was rather exhilarating. She had friends, old and new, who accepted her for who and what she was. While she knew there would certainly be challenges in the future Narcissa Black was thriving in her present and that was all she gave a damn about.

That is until Professor McGonagall intercepted them, a concerned look upon her face, "Miss Black, could you follow me?"

The three students hesitated, uncertain looks crossing their faces, "Is everything alright, Professor?" She asked.

Professor McGonagall pursed her lips, "I'll explain on the way, come along now."

So Narcissa quickly followed after her glancing over her shoulder she caught the worried looks of Aaron and Vivian. She mustered the best reassuring smile she could before she turned back around.
