بسم لله رحمن الرحيم
In the name of Allah, the beneficent, the merciful

Now

Her lips were trembling tremendously, her teeth chattering against each other. The little hairs on her skin stood on end, she was shivering like she was being dipped inside a tank filled with bone chilling water. Even though the weather condition is extreme, she was not shivering from the cold. Rather, she was shivering from how terribly she had messed up her life. Shivering from how her life had snapped in the span of a second

She didn't know how she ended up here, where? She doesn't even know. But someway, somehow she had ended up in a place that looks like a hospital

With wobbly legs, she walked over to the nearest wall and leaned against it. Her legs gave in, she couldn't do it anymore. The cold wall was scraping her back as she slid down to the hard floor
There were no more tears left to cry, so she just sat there staring into nothingness. Feeling empty and numb. The agony she was going through is not describable, Khairi prefer to spring her heart out from her chest and then butcher it into pieces than to go through this emotional rollercoaster

She brought up her legs to her chest, hugging her body as she rocked back and forth. How had it gotten to this? How had she let it escalate to this point? From being secured in her home to being on the streets? So many questions, but with not a single clue about the answer

The dark night seemed to be slowly drawing, and taking each part of Khairi with it. It is dark, really dark, and the streets were empty. No vehicles or any human being in sight. She buried her face deeper into her thighs, hugging herself tighter

The silence was deafening, and it was slowly dawning on Khairi that it's true, it happened. It's definitely not a dream, not a nightmare. Real

A sound rumbled from her chest up her throat and escaped her lips. Then she suddenly stiffened, her whole body freezing in place
They were footsteps, the sound was delicate and echoing in the distance. Whoever the person was, he/she suddenly stopped because the sound of the footsteps ceased
And then there's the sound again, it was inching closer and closer until it stopped right above her and became shadow looming over her

"What the hell are you doing out here, all alone?" Khairi almost did a double take, because wooooah his voice is husky. Like really husky, coming out like he swallowed a toad or something

She internally cringed at the thought. Khairi didn't reply, she didn't even lift her head up from where she had placed it. She just sat there, not even finding the willpower to cry her heart out

"It's like a thousand degrees out here" He commented, shifting even more closer to her "You could get sick"

After several minutes of silence, a reaction arose from her. A bitter laugh escaped from her throat "I have a strong desire to die. So does it really matter if I get sick?"

"Subhanallah!" His voice raised by an octave, then it softened "Why would you say that?"

The heaviness in her heart increased a ten fold, her head was pounding "Because my life is over. I'd rather die a thousand deaths than continue to experience this torture"

Khairi noticed as he paused, she still hadn't seen his face. She's been looking at his feet all this while, he has some nice feet "Your life is not over" He says with so much affirmation, like he's a hundred and one percent sure of it

But he isn't, he doesn't know anything. He doesn't know how her father had kicked her out of the house, or how her naivety had led her into the state she is now. Or how she's carrying someone's child, someone who's not her husband
