Nikki is Chris Evans oldest friend. They have known each other for many years. When there friendship took a turn for the worst she left Boston with her new boyfriend. 4 years later she is back and needs the help of her oldest friend.
I stand up and pace, did I just hear him correctly? "Nikki?" "Yep" "Did you hear me?" "Yep" "So?" "Chris your insane. We haven't even properly dated and you want me to marry you" "Yes I do. We have known each other most of our lives Nikki, I know your the one for me and I know I love you more then anything. You and the kids. I want you to be my wife" I just stand there shocked "chris.....you......can't just.....you" "Is that a no?" "It's not a no chris but it's not a yes" "So you don't want to marry me?" "Of course I do, but this is all happening too quickly. Chris please give me time to think" "If we love each other why should we wait" "Chris it's not that simple" "Yes it is. You either want this or you don't" "Chris....." "You don't. Ok" He gets up and walks into the house, I follow "chris please" "No it's fine" and with that he walks out of the door. I'm not insane in thinking that it's too fast, it's too soon. We have only just told each other how we feel and he wants me to marry him. I decide to call the one person who can always talk me through anything. Scott. I ask him to come over and he is at my door within minutes. "What's going on?" "Chris asked me to marry him" "Omg!" "I didn't say yes" "What?" "Scott we haven't even been on a date" "Look Nikki if this was any other couple then yeah I would get it but you and chris your meant to be together everyone can see that" "But that doesn't mean we should get married" "Do you love him?" "Of course I do more then anything" "Ok so why shouldn't you marry him?" "Because......I'm scared scott" "Scared of what?" "I went through hell with Joe and I'm scared to let someone else in. What if something goes wrong? It's not just me that suffers it's my kids too" "Chris loves those kids and he wouldn't do anything to hurt them. And your worried something is going to go wrong I get that but what if it doesn't. What if things go really right and you and chris can finally be a family?" "I never thought of it like that" "Look Nikki I love you and I love chris and I think you guys are amazing together" "So do I" "So why not say yes" "Your right" "I am. Omg your going to marry chris" "Yeah I am" he picks me up and spins me around "call him" "No I have a better idea and I need your help" "Whatever you need" I smile at him and we start planning to surprise chris.
A few hours later and everything is set up, scott called his mum and sisters and they all came over and helped decorate the garden and set everything up. I went to my wardrobe and picked out the prettiest dress I could find

I'm stood in the little gazebo that is the middle of the garden with the kids stood in front of me and Rosie in her seat. Scott has just text me and let me know he is bringing chris threw the door any minute.
Chris POV
"Scott why are we here?" "Just walk through that door and everything will be made clear okay" I groan, I'm still upset at Nikki, I want to marry her and she said no. I don't want to talk her right now. I open the back door to her house and walk out into the garden. When I look up I see the garden filled with fairy light and candles, at the end of the path Nikki stands in a beautiful dress with the 3 kids standing in front of her looking so adorable. "What's going on?" "Just sit please" Nikki asks me, there is a chair in the middle of the path so I sit down. I hear music start to play and I recognise the song straight away. Its our song, the song she always used to sing. It feels like home to me. She sings the song so beautifully and the kids are dancing in front of her. It makes me smile. She comes down the steps and stands in front of me. She holds out her hand and pulls me up. She looks into my eyes and places her hand on the back of my neck and sings to me 'If you knew how much this moment means to me And how long I've waited for your touch If you knew how happy you are making me I've never thought that I'd love anyone so much' I can't help the tears that are flowing down my cheeks. She finishes the song and we stand there just staring at each other. "Nikki?" She places her finger on my lips and takes a deep breath. "Chris, I'm so sorry. I was scared to say yes because I'm scared to let you in. But the truth is I couldn't imagine anything more perfect in this life then being your wife. If you still want me to be" "Are you saying...." "Yes chris I'm saying yes" I can't help but smile, I grab her face and kiss her deeply. "Shit! I don't have a ring" "Well......" She looks behind me and I see my mum standing there, she is crying as she walks to me. She hands me a small box and I open it. "It was your grandmas, she would want Nikki to have it" "Thank you mum" I kiss her cheek and turn back to Nikki.

I get down on one knee and take nikkis hand in mine "Nikki, I love you more then life itself. Will you marry me?" "Yes chris I will" I slip the ring on her finger and pick her up. I kiss her so passionately. I hear clapping from behind us, I turn round to see my entire family stood there. Smiling at us. "You did all of this" She nods "I did. I had to show you that marrying you was the best thing I could ever do" I kiss her again. The kids come running over and I scoop up the twins, Nikki takes Rosie from my mum and we all stand together for a photo. This is everything I ever dreamed off. I have a family and I love them all so much.
