Nikki is Chris Evans oldest friend. They have known each other for many years. When there friendship took a turn for the worst she left Boston with her new boyfriend. 4 years later she is back and needs the help of her oldest friend.
It had been a month since I moved out of chris house. He hadn't been round, he text me a couple of times to ask how we were but that was it. Rosie was now 2 months old and the twins were 1 month away from there 4th birthday. Time was moving so fast. Joes trial was in a week and I was so nervous to have to face him again. Tonight was Carly's birthday, so she has organised a big party. The kids are welcome too so that saves me having to find someone to have them. I'm in my bedroom getting ready, Noah is watching Tv, Jessica is on her tablet and Rosie is sleeping. I've not done much, just minimal make up, hair is curly and I have a white maxi dress on.

Jessica's and Rosie have a similar dress to mine and Noah is wearing some chino shorts and a cute little polo shirt. I get everyone into the car and head off to Carly's. I'm nervous, I haven't seen chris in so long and I don't know how it's going to be after our last conversation. I pull up and Scotty comes running out to help me "Nikki, I've missed you guys" "We've missed you too" He grabs the twins for me while I get Rosie and Carly's gifts. We head on inside and I have all the evans clan round us, hugging and kisses us. I give Carly her gifts and a big hug and we all say happy birthday. She asks to take Rosie so I let her and I head into the kitchen for a drink. Lisa comes in "hello honey, you look so pretty. How's the new place?" "Thank you Lisa so do you. And it's great. We have really settled in well." "I'm so happy for you" "Thank you" she gives me another hug, as I pull away I see the door opening and I see chris walk in. He looks right at me and I don't know wether to smile or not. Just as I'm about to say hello, in walks a woman by his side, holding his hand. I can't believe he bought a date, after I told him I loved him. "Excuse me Lisa" "Nikki wait!" She tried to call me back but I just walked to the bathroom. I can't believe him. He knew I was going to be here. I have a little cry and then sort myself out, as I open the door I'm met by scott "Please tell me you did not shed a tear for that ass hole" I laugh, scott has no filter he just says what he thinks. "A little but I'm okay" "Okay, come on. Let's have some fun" I giggle as he pulls me to the back yard. I see Noah and Jessica playing with Ethan, miles and Stella. I see Lisa holding Rosie and being completely besotted with her and then I see chris, standing next to this beautiful woman. He notices me and start to walk over. "Do you want to talk to him?" I just nod and scott walks away leaving us standing there. "Hey" "Hi" "I'm sorry I haven't been round" "I get it" I nod my head towards the woman he bought" "It's not like that Nik" "You walked in holding hands chris, I don't see how it's not like that" "It's new.I don't really know what it is right now" "It's fine. Have fun" as I'm about to walk away I hear Noah shout "Chris!!!!!" He runs to him and chris scoops him up, then Jessica comes running and he picks her up too. "Hey you two. I've missed you" "We miss you too. We want to come back home chris" "Noah. Jessica stop" The twins look at me with sad faces and then back to chris. "Guys, you need a place of your own okay. But your more then welcome to come and visit whenever you want okay" "Really?" "Yes really" they giggle and kiss his cheeks. He puts them down and they run back over to play. "Where's Rosie?" Lisa comes walking over and hands me Rosie "I think she is hungry sweetheart" "Thanks Lisa" Chris looks down at the beautiful baby girl in my arms "she is so big" "Yeah she is" "Can I hold her?" I think about saying no but I can't do that to him. "Sure, I'll go heat her bottle" He nods and takes Rosie from me, he kisses her cheeks "I'm missed you miss Rosie Roo" I smile at the nickname. "She's missed you too" I say quietly as I walk past chris to the kitchen. I'm heating her bottle when I hear someone clear there throat behind me. I turn around and Carly is stood there. "Are you okay?" I told Carly what happened, so she knows this would be hard for me. "Not really but I have to be" "He is an idiot" "Your brother said the same thing. I always knew he could never love me Carly and now I guess I have my proof" "Nikki" "It's okay. I have 3 wonderful kids and I'm happy" "Hey. You have all of us too okay" I nod and she hugs me tight. I grab Rosie's bottle and walk back to chris. He is sat down with his date. She is cooing over Rosie. "She is beautiful" "Thank you. I'm Nikki" I look at chris "a family friend" "Hi Nikki I'm Minika" "Nice to meet you" "You too" we shake hands and I take Rosie from chris "I'm just going to get her fed" I walk up to Chris's childhood bedroom. It hasn't changed a bit. As I'm feeding Rosie, I hear the door open. It's chris. "Can I come in?" "Yeah, it's your room" He sits next to me on the bed and stares down at Rosie "I can't believe how big she is" "You've missed a lot of this last month" "I know. I'm sorry Nikki" "Don't chris. I've cried enough" He turns my head to Face him "I never wanted to hurt you" "But you did. It's done chris okay. Just leave it" "I miss you Nikki" "I miss you too" I lean my head on his shoulder and he puts his arm around mine. He pulls me close as I feed Rosie. I really missed being in this man's arms. But how can we possibly go back to how things were before I said I love you. It's not possible.
