Twisted Metal: The Revenge (Book 01).

Prologue C: Death Of Needles.

On his quest to help kidnap his sister, the last stop Charlie made was at the local graveyard outside of town. Knowing that she wasn't at the hospital, Charlie figured it would be one of the next places to look.

To his luck though, Charlie found his sister, but she wasn't alive. What Charlie found, was his sisters grave stone. "Here lies Sophie Kane," the stone read. "1995-2012, R.I.P." 2012, the same year she escaped, when Needles came to be. Sophie must have commited suicide after leaving the hospital Charlie searched in, when looked.

(Here's another Easter Egg. 1995 is the same year, when the first Twisted Metal came out. Of course, I looked up that Needle's head wasn't on fire, but the head of his truck was.) Despite all of this, not even Needles knew that Sophie killed herself, but since she is now dead, there's no reason for searching anymore. With that, Charlie returned to his hideout he called the "Dark Circus", to continue watching his father in the Twisted Metal contest to see him win.

The last opponent Needles faced were the Grimm Brothers. Charlie also noticed that he didn't fight without the Sweet Tooth, but he guessed an ice cream truck would take too much damage. At the end of the match, Needles won defeating both monster trucks, meaning he was about to get his wish. Unfortunately for Needles, he was about to find out where Sophie was, when Calypso granted his wish. In the end, while Charlie was searching for the Sweet Tooth, Needles made an unfortunate mistake.

Needles ended up teleported into the coffin, where Sophie's skeleton was, and started suffocating, and dying. A year later, once Charlie was now 21, the Sweet Tooth was found by him, and he used all of his strength to carry it to the graveyard. Charlie figured that his father had the keys, so he stole a shovel from an abandoned hardware store to dig up the grave. As he returned to the graveyard, Charlie went to Sophie's grave, and found that her name was marked out to say his father's name with spray paint, and did the same with the date of birth, and death. Charlie dug up the grave, just after noticing the stone.

As the grave was finally dug up, Charlie opened it, noticed the skeleton that was now his sister, and spotted Needles's corpse. Charlie searched the pockets in Needles's pants, finding them. Once Charlie had the keys, he decided to take something else from his father, and spotted his clown mask. Charlie removed the mask from his father, and took off the paper bag around his own face, then got out of the coffin, and returned to the Sweet Tooth. To hide himself, Charlie placed on Needles's mask, and his head caught on fire, just like what happened with Marcus Kane. With that, Charlie Kane was no more, leaving behind the start of Slash Kane, who drove off to hunt down the one person who tricked, and killed his own father. That man was Calypso.
