Back on the road, Slash stopped at a billboard that had Calypso's daughter on the front of it in her vehicle, and revealed her unmasked. Just after getting out of the Sweet Tooth, Slash noticed something under the billboard.
It was a small grey object that plays any genre of music, and downloads new songs by itself, while it also substitutes as a radio player. Slash recognized this on TV, and saw a commercial that called these things the C-Pod. A portable music device created by Calypso Industries. All Slash needed was a pair of headphones to listen.
Luckily, Slash spotted a corpse on the side of the road that lost all of it's blood, skin, and bones, and was also wearing a pink dress, and sandals. (If that corpse sounds familiar it does. That's the same corpse that Needles left on the road at the beginning of the story mode of Twisted Metal 2012. Even though he was a father, he was willing to help out his son with clues.) The C-Pod took C-Batteries, because it was part recording device, so Slash didn't need to charge it.
Once Slash took the headphones off of the skeleton on the road, he took the C-Pod, and got back in the Sweet Tooth to listen to it. Just as Slash got back in, he checked the C-Pod, and found that it's battery went low during the time it was playing, meaning that they were about to run out of power. Slash checked the glove compartment for some C-Batteries, and spotted a 25-pack of them, as he used one of his throwing knives to cut the pack open, and take 2 out. 2 C-Batteries were all the C-Pod needed.
Slash switched the batteries, so the C-Pod would be fully powered, and inserted the headphones into it. With the headphones attached to the C-Pod, Slash placed the ear bud parts of the headphones in his ears, then looked at what was on the screen. On the screen, Slash found two recorded radio messages on the C-Pod about the Twisted Metal tournaments that occurred. (For those of you who didn't play Twisted Metal 2012, I'll explain what they say.) One message was about an interview with someone called the preacher, who explained that Calypso was responsible for all the destruction in town, and is a menace.
There was a second message involving the last winner, and the announcer asks where the police, and military are in all this, even bringing up the possibility of there being protestors against Calypso. The message ended with these two sentences. "The protestors, they don't exist because the contest doesn't exist," the announcer said. "Twisted Metal, it just ain't real." Slash turned off the radio after listening. "Maybe this preacher will help me take down Calypso, and get revenge on my father," Slash said to himself. "If this Calypso is what he says he is, and had his contest off my pops, I believe I'm on a man hunt." Slash turned off the entire C-Pod, and pulled out a walky-talky to talk with his gang. "Clowns, meet me at Calypso Industries," Slash explained.
