by the time the long weekend was over, none of the graves children were yet to feel excitement about the sudden move. they were awoken early for the first day of school, and rushed out the door as soon as all of them - excluding jackson, for obvious reasons - had eaten something and were prepared.

jasmine ended up dropping alex off before she drove herself and cecilia to their new school, forks high, while their parents dropped off olive. jackson was staying home, working on his college courses like he'd been up to for the last year.

they were lucky there was a college back home that even the supernatural could attend without much problem.

arriving at forks high school, both teenage girls let out groans. cecilia's was much more audible than jasmine's, but the disdain was evident from either girl.

"let's get this over with, cec. the longer we wait, the more shit we have to put up with from marcus and maria."

with a nod from cecilia, both girls brace themselves for the obvious staring that's about to go down the second they step out of the truck. cece moved to her sister's side almost immediately after they rounded the vehicle, trying to pretend like her nerves weren't bouncing off the walls at every pair of eyes she felt on her.

"just ignore it. to the office, that's where we need to go," jasmine murmurs softly, only low enough for the younger to hear as they walk casually through the lot and into the school. jasmine tried her hardest not to snap when she heard whispers floating around them about her and her sister. they thankfully made it to the office quickly, cecilia letting out a sigh of relief as she untenses slightly without the constant stares focused on her.

"is there something i can help you with, girls?" the receptionist woman questions, a slightly strained smile on her face that told the two of them she'd literally rather not be there.

"we're new, so, um..." the older trails off, and the woman's eyes flash in recognition.

"oh, the new students! yes, of course! let me see, let me see... jasmine and cecilia graves, yes?" she questions to confirm, her smile seeming a bit more genuine as they nod in sync. she quickly fishes out the proper papers, handing them to each respective teen, before sending them out with a wish of good luck.

"if only luck worked like that..."

jasmine muffles a small snort at her sister's remark, but doesn't comment as they try to navigate the halls of their new, complicated, human-filled high school.

cecilia's first class was easiest to find, it being on the first floor. the younger swiftly wrapped her older sister in a hug before walking inside, masking any panic that might've shown on her face so as to not show fear to the other teenagers. jasmine's class was on the second floor, and she was lucky enough to get inside just before the bell rang, satisfying the teacher enough for them to not count her as late.

she ended up sitting next to a cute looking girl with glasses and her hair tied up in a ponytail. the girl shyly eyed her throughout the duration of class, and they only got to talk when the teacher had them partner up for the in-class assignment.

"uh, hi. i'm angela. you're, um, one of the new girls, right?" she asks, voice soft but nice sounding, and jasmine can't help but instantly take a liking to the new girl.

"yeah, i'm new. i'm jasmine, it's nice to meet you," she introduces, smiling, and when angela smiles back, she can't help the slight glow of happiness in her chest.

"where are you from? it's not often we get new people, especially from out of state."

jasmine has to ponder for a moment on whether or not to share any truthful information with the kind looking girl, but decides to be honest in the end. "my family lived up in north dakota kinda just along the canadian border. i love it a lot, since i've basically lived there the majority of my life, you know?"
