it was the fated day of arrival for the already famous isabella swan at forks high school. when the topic has been brought up, cecilia had mentioned how she was just glad she wouldn't be in the new kid spotlight anymore, especially since this isabella girl had actually been in forks before.

parking her truck near tyler's van, she waits for her younger sister to round it and appear at her side before heading into the school. already, the halls were buzzing with interest in the new girl, waiting for her to show up so they could all pick her apart and judge her. cecilia saw one of her friends, sofia, and hugged her sister before beelining towards the other girl.

a moment later, a weight falls onto her shoulders, and she playfully rolls her eyes at tyler as the two of them walk through the hall.

"hey, you see the new girl yet?" he asks, eyes flickering around for any unfamiliar face, but the girl just shakes her head while playfully rolling her eyes.

"no, ty, i haven't seen her yet. she's probably trying to avoid everyone as much as possible. i mean, that's what cece and i did."

tyler simply laughs, and they quickly separate in order to get to class. she took her seat next to angela, the two of them grinning at each other before the bespectacled girl holds up her camera with an eager look in her eyes.

"i can't wait to get the picture for the feature. eric has been talking nonstop about how this one needs to be at least as good as the one we did for you and cecilia, or else we're gonna have to resort to another article on teen drinking." her shoulders fell thinking about the regular front page headline that the paper usually stuck with, due to not having much to talk about in the first place.

jasmine places her hand on her shoulder, giving her a reassuring smile. "don't worry, with you two and the rest of the paper staff working on it, i'm sure the feature on the swan girl will do great."

angela sent her a thankful look, but they settled down when the teacher walked in and the bell rang, deciding to talk more about the feature at lunch.

in her next class, history, the teacher decided to pair them up to work on the assignment, and jasmine swiftly hid her phone when the teacher called on her. jessica had been texting her all morning about the gossip surrounding the newly returned isabella, and jasmine had tried numerous times to calm the girl down. apparently, the swan girl had been an attention magnet as a kid whenever she visited forks, so it seemed like nothing had changed in all the years since her last visit.

unfortunately, the graves girl was paired up with one of the cullen kids. he was the one named jasper, and he looked like he was restraining himself or in pain or something.

"uh, i'm jasmine," she mutters, dropping her bag next to the seat she was sitting in so they could work together. the blond male just nods, already writing something down in his notebook before raising his head to look at her.

"jasper."

they got to work on the assignment, easily dividing up the work so that they wouldn't have to talk more than necessary. jasmine may not be very social despite having a few friends, but damn, this guy really had no social skills at all.

'well, that's at least slightly better, then. don't want him being too social and using that as a way to prey on humans.'

but the girl had noticed the golden eyes he had, and had managed to deduce that the cullen vampires didn't drink human blood. it was a bit of a relief, but not much, considering they were still a clan of vampires living in a small town full of unknowing humans.

eventually, lunch came around, and she was the first one at their table before eric and angela showed up not long after her. she didn't bother listening into the conversation the two were having, letting angela have her moment with the boy, before she noticed jessica and mike approaching with a girl she wasn't familiar with.
