junior prom night had finally come upon the teenagers of forks high, and jasmine honestly couldn't deny the excitement that had been building up within her in anticipation for the night.

"okay, you have everything you need, right? phone, money, pepper spray, makeup, hairbrush, deodorant? backup phone too in case of emergency? and then flats if you need them?" maria grills as she makes sure that jasmine's dress is completely fine and won't get torn up or anything at the party. she didn't really have to, jasmine had spelled it to keep it from getting ruined, but the teenager appreciated the gesture.

the same questions would've been asked if she'd gone to the one back home, but she tried not to think too much on what she was missing out on.

"who's picking you up, again? one of your friends?" marcus questions, arms crossed over his chest and a frown set on his face. both females roll their eyes at him, but jasmine just gives him a pointed, amused look. he probably would've jokingly threatened rosa if the mermaid had been picking her up.

"yes, my friend tyler is picking me up. he's kinda my date, but if his date decides to not show up, we'll hang out for the majority of the night when our friends are with each other or something." soon enough, the ring of the doorbell sounds out in the house, and it's almost immediately followed by a stampede of feet.

the witch groans playfully as her siblings all come to stand near the door with their parents, awaiting tyler's greeting as she opens the door with a smile.

the boy tries for a smile when he sees his friend, going to hug her, but stops when he notices the glare he's receiving from several people only feet away from the two of them. he gulps slightly, but then smiles pleasantly at them in greeting.

"hello, mr. and mrs. graves. i'm tyler, a friend of jasmine's. i'll be taking her to prom this evening."

his statement only earns a sterner glare, especially from the pale boy that was staring him down ferociously from jasmine's side. the girl's arm had found its way around his shoulders, and if it weren't for her, he'd probably look a bit more intimidating.

"what are your intentions for my sister?" he demands, and jasmine lets out a scoff as tyler goes wide eyed.

"tyler, this is my family. there's maria, marcus, jackson, alex, olive, and, you already know cecilia," she introduces easily, gesturing to each person. the boy made sure to nod and smile with each introduction, wincing every time he was glared at. it didn't help that cecilia, the only other member of the graves family that he knew, was also giving him hostile looks.

"be back before one, okay? we'd prefer you to be home by midnight, but one is the latest," marcus states, eyes narrowed on the boy before moving to his daughter. she nods, smiling, and makes sure to give each sibling a hug before leaving.

"love you all!"

"bye, jazzy!" olive squeals, waving exaggeratedly as she watches the older girl leave.

the two talked animatedly about what they wanted to do that night, jasmine brushing off his nerves about his date likely not going to show up, and it wasn't too terribly long before they showed up at the venue where the junior prom was being held.

tyler went to help her out of the car, trying to be a gentleman, but jasmine got out all on her own and sent him a teasing smile. the boy simply rolled his eyes, smiling, and threw his arm around her shoulders as they began walking through the lot. spotting bella talking to a boy she was vaguely familiar with, jasmine waved, and the pale girl sent her a small smile back in return. jasmine ignored the strain of the curves of her lips, not wanting to have her night interrupted with any drama, and allowed tyler to drag her towards the entryway.
