when the cullens didn't show up to school the next day, jasmine internally rejoiced. but, bella avoided looking at or talking to her the entire day for some reason, which concerned her. the girl would walk in a different direction whenever jasmine came near, she refused to talk to her when they sat next to each other in history, and she just all around wouldn't look at her whenever they were around one another.
it made her think the worst, and jessica was quick to notice her worry.
"hey, you've been kinda mopey all day. what's wrong with you?" the short girl bluntly questions, causing jasmine to let out a small chuckle.
"you know bella's ignoring me."
"yeah, and i think it's rude. she needs to get over whatever stick's stuck up her ass and just talk to you," she snaps, smiling in slight victory when she sees the other girl smile again.
"well, it's probably a bit justified. i told her not to go to the cullens last night when alice was throwing a party for her birthday, because i personally don't trust how quickly they've warmed up to her after basically ignoring the entire school populous for the entirety of their stay in forks, and i just don't trust them. there's a lot more that i said to her, but i'd rather not get into that. you understand why i tried to tell her not to go, right?"
the look on jasmine's face, lost and concerned, pushed jessica to put on her most sympathetic expression, "of course i get it, jasmine. you were just looking out for your friend, like you've done for all of us. like that time you told mike not to get blackout drunk that one time because he had a game the next day, and he utterly fucked up because he didn't listen."
the two of them laugh at the memory of the incident, quietly making small jokes about mike while he'd been hungover.
"if bella can't appreciate that you were just trying to look out for her, then it's her fucking loss. you look out for us even when we don't want or ask you to, and you want what's best for us. you're honestly one of the best friends i've ever had, and i appreciate everything you do for me. so, thank you. and don't feel bad about bella ignoring you, because i'm sure she'll come around."
jasmine smiles again, pulling jessica into a hug and resting her head on top of the shorter girl's own head.
"wow, way to silently make fun of my height."
both girls break out into laughter, drawing the attention of hailey as she walks towards them.
"whoa, what'd i miss? did i miss a pep talk? dammit, i was hoping to help out during the next pep talk!" she complains, and her two friends pull apart giggling as they turn to face her.
"yes, you did miss the pep talk. which, i utterly nailed by the way! am i right, jasmine?"
"yes, you completely nailed the pep talk, jess."
the three girls laugh, playfully shoving each other before heading out to the parking lot. hailey catches bella out of the corner of her eye, turning slightly and watching the swan girl get into her ugly red truck with a slight frown on her lips. she notices the girl look their way and at jasmine for a few brief seconds before driving off, and the quilete teen scoffs quietly before hugging her friend and walking off to her own vehicle.
whatever reason bella had for ignoring their friend, it really didn't seem like a good enough one to completely shut her out.

jasmine was putting together some of her herbs to send another batch of the moon suppressant ones to another werewolf back in her hometown when she got the call.
