The boys sat there in silence after that. They wanted to cry. They wanted to wail. They wanted to express their grief but.... they couldn't. They had to be strong for each other as well as Chun-ja. So, it was what they did. They sat there, waiting for Chun-ja to wake up while trying not to cry after seeing each other's tears.
However, soon their attention was caught by a shrill cry filling the room. They knew who it was. Only if the circumstances were different then they all would have been playing with their youngest friend's son but oh, well. It isn't life if it isn't hard. It isn't life if it isn't messed up. It isn't life if you aren't in deeps***.
Taehyung sighed as he stood up and slowly lifted the youngest male in his arms as carefully as he could.
He sat on the bed again as he rocked the baby in his arms trying to stop him from crying.
However, while they were busy hushing the baby, they didn't notice Chun-ja's fingers twitching and eyelids moving.
Not a second later, she sat up with a jerk, panting heavily. The boys snapped their heads towards her as their eyes widened when they saw her. Finally, after almost an hour, she had woken up.
"Chun-ja, you okay?"
"We were so worried?"
"How are you-"
Catching her ragged breath, she raised her hand in the air, gesturing them to stop bombarding her with questions.
All the boys stopped talking almost immediately as no one dared to utter a word after that.
For the next few minutes, they sat in utter silence with only Chun-ja's constant breathing trying to break the silent atmosphere.
Chun-ja stared at the wall in front of her. She looked lost and ..... guilty. She looked tired. She looked worn out. She looked as if she wanted nothing but a break. A break from life. A break from her unfortunate luck. A break from her destiny and fate.
Namjoon cleared his throat as he tried to take the matter into his hands to break the thick silence.
"Jungkook-"
However, he stopped when he heard a chuckle erupting from the girl's throat. The boys crashed their brows together as they shared eye contact before turning their attention to the girl.
"It's okay, Oppa. It was his choice. It was his life. He might have been going through so much."
The boys gulped their saliva which gave them a cold, slimy feeling in their throats as it passed through their oesophagus.
The younger girl wasn't behaving like herself. They expected her to cry, to wail, to sob loudly, to mourn and whatnot but they never imagined her to react like that. However, the next words from her broke the boys' hearts completely.
