Time went by so slowly at that hospital. It was enough time to get sort of acquainted with my powers. I'm not good at it yet but practice makes perfect. There were times when I would try to make something heavier move like a chair. When it started to levitate it fell on the floor. Along with magazines, napkins and cotton balls. The nurse had a mess to clean up every time she went into my room. She never asked me how it happened. She was probably afraid I was the devil's daughter or something. Her mind would always scream "What is this girl doing in here?" and I would try not to chuckle too loud.
I look up at my ceiling that's filled with shining stars. I missed the feeling of heaven and space being right here with me. It's peaceful. I eye my remote on my TV stand. I stare at it, focusing all my attention on it so it can come to me. It starts to move and slowly makes its way towards me. I reach for it when it gets close, but it falls to the floor. Damn I wish there was a manual for this. I take a deep breath and think of the name of the object. It floats up and lands in my hand perfectly. Now that's more like it.
I hear the loudest voice in history hit my eardrums. It's close to my bedroom door. I already know who it is because all I hear is "OH MY GOD. OH MY GOD."
"I know you're there Vee." I call out to her before she knocks.
She comes in. "How did you know it was me?"
I shrug. "I don't know, I just did. Anyway, how's school and everything?"
Even though I feel okay, the doctor recommended that I be put on bedrest after I left the hospital. It's only for today since they said nothing seems to be out of order. Stupid extra precaution. Of course, my mother had to make the decision for me. I missed this week of school but at least I can go back tomorrow morning which is Friday. You know how much I love Fridays.
Ivy sits beside me on the bed with a huge smile on her face. I hope she doesn't scream at me like how her thoughts are. They are loud enough.
"School is still underrated and still standing. People ask about you all the time though." Vee nudges my arm with her elbow. I know damn well that's not true.
"And I don't care. What I do care about is going back to school."
"Is the reason so you can see Pierce, so he knows you're okay because love conquers all?" She makes a heart with her hands and I slice it down the middle.
"Stop watching so many princess movies. No one is thinking about him." I get out of bed to sit in my spin around chair. I'm irritated that she is right. Ever since that night with the car accident, Pierce has been in my dreams almost every night.
Vee sighs loudly. "Fine, true love doesn't exist, but Levi is coming close to becoming my prince. I think Pierce wants to be your prince too."
"Oh, does he really?" I play along with her.
She smacks her lips. "He has been asking about you. That means he cares somewhat about you."
"If he did care he wouldn't have been kissing on Stella." I point out.
"Mmm true. Now that I think about it the whole time you were gone he ignored Stella. I thought that was strange."
My stomach does flips and flops and touchdowns, but I ignore it. I will not let my heart pitter patter at his mercy. He could be the reason I'm in this supernatural mess. He is also the reason my heart is broken because I saw him with Stella after what Vee told me. I wish I had my powers then. I would have sent her off to another dimension if I could.
"Again, don't care." I spin the chair around faster.
"Oh, you do care. The way you described that kiss was like a true love first kiss."
