The dark figure smiles at me and the feeling of me using my powers on it fills me up with excitement. If it's Pierce then even better. He will have no choice but to tell me who he really is and who put my brother in a coma. The figure continues to stare at me waiting for me to show my face.

I narrow my eyes trying to see if it's really Pierce. I can't tell because its black shape blends in with the night sky. I put on my shoes and grab my keys and a jacket. I go downstairs and my mom is down there in the living room on the sofa. I stay still on the side of the staircase. I hear snoring so she must be sleeping.

I quietly tiptoe to the front door and gently close it behind me. I turn around and the shape of a boy is standing on the other side of the street.

My guard is up even though I'm secretly hoping it's Pierce. It's crazy but I think I'd feel safer if this is Pierce standing there. Whoever this is I don't feel right about it but I have to know. Without taking my eyes off him I step closer into the street.

"Pierce, if this is you, you're not funny. You are really stalking me now so I can for sure call the cops this time." I say to him but he doesn't move, only smiles a little. It's a smile similar to Pierce. I get closer and he does start to resemble him, but it feels off. Should I trust my guts on the possibility that I feel like I know how Pierce would be around me? I barely know the guy, but I don't feel like this when I'm with him.

"Fine, just stay there. I am not entertaining this." I take a few steps back. Then he turns into a shadow and rushes toward me. I gasp and quickly try to back away. It 's coming at me fast. I put my hands up trying to push him away with my newfound abilities. Nothing happened. I'm too afraid. I scream as it blinds me with the black smoke. A hand comes out of the shadow and reaches for my throat. I pull at his fingers frantically trying to get free. I can't breathe.

A face emerges from the shadow looking me directly in my eyes. His eyes aren't golden brown but a lifeless gray. There are practically blacked out. His brown hair is in twists stopping at his neck. It's not Pierce. Wait a minute... is this the guy from laser tag? His grip gets tighter.

"Seraphina..." The boy says my name in accusation like he knows me or something. A hand grabs my shirt from behind and yanks me from his grip, sending me by the edge of my front steps on all fours. I cough trying to catch my breath and look up to see Pierce standing in front of me.

"What the fuck are you doing here?!" The boy with the twist says as he pushes Pierce away. Pierce pushes him back and he stumbles. That pissed him off and so the twisted hair boy steps back ready to fight. Pierce stands there unbothered.

"You touch her again like that and you will lose more than your arm."  Pierce came to rescue me? A feeling of warmth fills my heart seeing him protect me.  He's standing right in  the boy's face with his fist balled. They have a stare down competition and the tension rises.

"So, will you." The light gray eyes glance in my direction then back at Pierce. "I won't cover for you this time. Finish it or I will be forced to."  Black shadows emerges from the boy's body in fire waves until it engulfs him, and he disappears. I think I just saw someone vanish in front of my very eyes. I don't know if I should be amazed or scream for my life. How did that guy know me? He didn't look familiar to me at all. Pierce turns toward me, and I shake my head now more afraid of him than ever. He stops moving when he see's my fear.

"Phina relax, I won't hurt you. It's just me. Are you okay?" He gets down to help me up. His brown eyes sparkles that warm gold color letting me know it's him. It's the last face I thought I would find comfort in. I grab his hands and he pulls me up. I rub my aching shoulder but other than that nothing hurt.

"I'm fine." I whisper still on edge about what happened. "Who was that?"

"I can explain but not here." He walks over to his motorcycle. I don't even remember him driving here. He just appeared and so did that other guy. I'm getting tired of not getting answers from him. I walk up to him as he straddles his bike.
