7 || Meeting the Savior

Three months later

Naruto Uzumaki

Sasuke and I were going to go on a mission... again. Our days have always been the same since we were officially demon slayers. Get sent on a mission, kill some demons, go home. Sometimes, we don't even go back to the HQ if the place we were sent to is really far.

All the missions I'd been sent on have always been with Sasuke. I think the master noticed our teamwork and so he always put us on the same team; not that I didn't want it, to be fair. Anyway, this day was indifferent than before. We were sent on another mission, although this time the location was fairly close to the HQ.

Something I'd noticed these past months, though, was the lack of meetings we've had with the master. That might be normal for the other slayers but we still hadn't really learned everything there was to be learned. The last time we talked was that conversation before Sasuke and I's first mission.

Also, I realized that the demons we'd been facing had always been quite weak. Were demons actually that easy to defeat? Or was it just because I came from a different world? Most likely the latter option. But, the reason I thought this way was because Sasuke and I would be able to kill a handful of demons in one night. There would be little to no challenge most of the time.

"WEST! WEST! GO TO THE TOWN NEARBY IN THE WEST! NARUTO UZUMAKI! SASUKE UCHIHA! KAW!" The sound of a kasugai crow distracted me from my sort-of self reflection.

"Let's go." Sasuke ran ahead.

I agreed and started running and following the crow, like we'd been doing for three months everyday. Another night of demon hunting commences.

Third Person

"Great pride? Luck in battle? What does that mean?"

'Jeez, this guy is totally clueless.'

"Well, yeah, now that you mention it, it's kind of difficult. With great pride, I guess it means that you know your place and that you behave properly so that you're never ashamed of yourself."

"Huh?"

"And the old lady is also praying for our safety."

"So, what is this place? What do you mean, never ashamed?"

"Well, it's..."

"What exactly does it mean to behave properly? Why in the hell would that old hag pray for our safety anyway? She has nothing to do with us. Then, why? She has no clue what her own place is, does she?"

"Hmph!"

'He sped up!'

"I won't get beat!"

"Wait up!"

The duo from the different dimension arrived at their marked destination. According to the crow, there had been a demon that was openly devouring and murdering people at night. Because the demon was fine with it being caught by villagers, the amount of casualties happening was off the charts.

Not only that, it could also easily get away with what it did because of how defenseless the town and townspeople are. Which is why, two demon slayers had been called up to take the demon down once and for all.

"The sun's going down in a few minutes. I don't think we need to ask people about the situation." Sasuke said looking at the yellow ball slowly going under the horizon.

"And if what the crow said is true then we really don't need to waste our time looking for it since it's probably gonna go for us." Naruto continued.
