Chapter Four

Penelope POV

"Are you nervous?" I asked Josie after noticing her hands shaking.

"Um yeah- yeah a little, I mean aren't you?" she asked fumbling over her words, I chuckled a bit and nodded.

"Yeah, I mean Sage is probably still a little skeptical of us but she was definitely excited about tonight. Plus I feel like there's still some things we need to talk to Hope about." I confessed.

"Do you think she'll start calling us mom too?" she asked nervously not even looking at me, I had to think about it.

"I'm not sure, I mean she doesn't really know us yet." I explained shrugging my shoulders, she just nodded before we finished getting ready to leave. We left out and headed to Hope's dorm, once we made it Josie knocked on the door and Hope opened it looking beautiful as always.

"Princess, look who's here." she said to the little girl on the huge bed, Sage looked at us before walking to the door.

"Hi Jo, Hi Pen." Sage said with the sweetest tone, Josie and I laughed at the nicknames.

"Haven't been called that in a while, your mommy's the only person who ever called me that." I reminisced with a smile, I looked at Hope who was smiling softly. God I love her smile- NO stop it, you're with Jade now.

"You guys should probably come in so you can start the movie." Hope suggested moving out of the way, once we walked in I was hit with Hope's lavender scent and it smelled amazing, intoxicating really.

"C'mon let's go to my room!" Sage said grabbing Josie's hand and leading her away, I was following but I noticed Hope wasn't coming.

"Aren't you coming?" I turned around and asked, she started shifting around.

"Oh um, no I was just going to let you guys have some time with Sage. You know get used to the whole co-parenting thing." she said fidgeting with her fingers, I sighed and shook my head.

"It's okay if you're not comfortable with this yet Hope, you know that right? We can easily all watch the movie together, that's what I thought was happening anyway." I told her walking closer, I stopped right in front of her and heard her breath hitch.

"That- that's okay, I actually have some forms to fill out for Sage about her abilities and species." she declined taking a step back with flushed cheeks, I nodded with a smile turning around to go to Sage's room.

"What exactly are her abilities and species?" I asked before completely leaving.

"She's a siphon and a tribrid, obviously not fully activated." she said sitting at her desk, I hummed and left out. I walked into Sage's room to see her and Josie giggling on her bed.

"And what are you two so giggly about?" I asked walking in with a smile, they turned to look at me and I haven't seen Josie this happy in a long time. Three and half years to be honest.

"Mo- I mean Jo was telling jokes with me." Sage said with a shy smile, I looked at Josie who had an understanding smile on her face.

"You can call me momma or ma or whatever you want, I promise it's okay." Josie assured her seeing how nervous Sage became after her slip up.

"So I can call you momma?" Sage asked fidgeting with her fingers like Hope does, Josie looked like her heart was going to explode.

"Of course you can kiddo." Josie said, Sage lunged into Josie's arms and sat on her lap giving her hug which Josie reciprocated. I stood there letting them have their moment.

"Can I call you ma?" she asked looking at me and my heart stopped for a second before I walked over to them.

"You can absolutely call me that." I said smiling at her and she flashed a beautiful smile back.
