Pulling Your Heartstrings

Lullaby

Y/n Pov

After a long shift, I packed up my things and began heading back to school. It was maybe a five minute walk, the night air cold yet refreshing. It was quiet, but that was something I really liked about the night.

"It's peaceful." I sigh.

I reach my dorm room, worried that 'Tomu might be asleep, so I tried to remain as quiet as possible. Only to find 'Tomu was wide awake.

"Hey, 'Tomu. Still up?"

He looked at me and smiled. "Hey, Y/n. Can't sleep. How was the rest of your night?"

"Busy. But nice since I got to sing and eat."

As if on cue, my phone started ringing. It was Lev.

I chuckled, answering. "I mention that I got to sing and then you call."

I heard him chuckle from the other side. "Hope I'm not interrupting something..."

"Not at all, Lev. What's up?" 'Please say my hand in marriage...'

He sighed on the other end. "I can't sleep. And Yaku-san is gonna get mad and hit me if I don't get enough sleep and come in tired tomorrow. I can't bother the gc cuz everyone else is trying to sleep."

"Hmm. Well I just got back from singing at my brother's cafe, so if ya let me do my night routine, we can FaceTime and I can sing you a lullaby?"

"Really?! Ok! Call me when you're done!"

"Will do." And he hung up.
I turned to 'Tomu. "Well, looks like I'm fixing two people's sleeping problems at once. It is fine if I FaceTime my friend and sing, right?"

'Tomu nodded. "It's fine with me!"

Once I finished my night routine, I FaceTimed Lev, who looked really good at the moment.

"Hey, Lev!" I couldn't stop smiling.

"Hey, Y/n! I miss you."

"I miss you too." A slight blush creeped onto my face.

"Can't wait to hear you sing again!"

I nodded, pulling my guitar onto my lap. I took a deep breath and starting playing.

"The night... it calls... slip away into your own world. Don't you cry, don't you fret. Dreamland is coming to take you away. The clouds consume you. You feel the warmth wrapped around you tight. You sigh and drift into the peacefulness."

As I sang, I kept my eyes on Lev, whose eyes seemed to only be getting heavier as I sung him the lullaby I wrote when I was a baby. I glanced at 'Tomu from the corner of my eye, he was also starting to drift off.
I smiled as I continued to sing, turning my full attention back to Lev.

I hadn't realized while I was singing, but about halfway through, both boys had completely fallen asleep. They had smiles on their faces and looked adorable, Lev especially.

I quietly put my guitar away and curled into bed, staring at my phone screen, which still revealed Lev's sleeping face.

He was muttering in his sleep. Probably having a good dream. I though about hanging up and letting everyone sleep, myself included.
As I was about to hang up, I heard a sound come from Lev's line.
