Pulling Your Heartstrings

Friday evening I was chilling in my dorm with Tomu. It was quiet, peaceful... kinda boring. Then both of our phones rang.
We both screamed, falling out of our beds, before answering the calls we were both receiving.

"Tetsu? Why're you calling right now?" I laid back on my bed.

"Two reasons. One: Kenma and I missed you. Kenma, say hi."

"Hey, Y/n."

"Hey Kenken."

Tetsu continued. "And two: Nekoma's in Miyagi. So our plans for tomorrow- you remember it, right?"

"Of course! My brother's cafe, right? Do I still need to send the address? I thought I sent it in the gc."

Tetsu chuckled on the other end. "No, don't worry. We've got it. We'll see ya there around... what time Kenma?"

"Around 10ish... maybe earlier. Expect earlier."

"I'll be there before it opens at 6:30, so I'll be ready for whenever you guys get there. I usually don't start performing till 8ish though. So I can't promise I'll be off the stage to greet you. I told my brother, and he'll take care of ya."

"Ok." They said together.

"SEMI-SAN DID WHAT?!" Tomu's voice sounded from the other side of the room.

"What was that?!" Their worried voices sounded from my phone.

"Just my roommate. Gotta go, see ya tomorrow." I quickly hung up and went over to Tomu, placing my hand gently on his shoulder.
"What's going on, Tomu?"

He looked at me. "Uh... sorry Tendou-san, my roommate's talking to me." He muted his end and turned to me. "Sorry, Y/n. One of the third years had been talking about getting a job and one of my other senpai just told me he's found one."

"Oh... so what's wrong with that?"

"He might miss a few practices or will have to leave early. But he doesn't start his new job until Sunday, so he'll still be at tomorrow's practice. Sorry again for yelling, I need to get back to the call..."

"It's fine. Just try to keep it quiet." I smiled at him then went back to flop down on my bed.

First thing in the morning, I woke up and showered and got dressed. Once I had everything I knew I'd need, I left the dorm and campus, heading to my brother's cafe. Upon arriving, my brother handed me my favorite coffee.

"Thanks, B/n. Do you need any help with pre-opening prep?"

"No. Just go eat and drink your coffee. You'll need to get yourself ready for your performance."

"Well, I'm also helping with service until about 7:45. It doesn't really matter to me. I like helping you. It'll help me remain calm before Tetsu and Kenken get here." I smiled, thinking about my amazing senpai and best friends.

My brother smiled, seeing how happy I was. "Yeah, don't worry. Oh right, tomorrow there'll be a new guy. We just hired him. He seemed excited. So, you're gonna have to be here all day- open to close. We need him to get accustomed to you."

I nodded. "Ok." I walked to the back to eat and finish my coffee, quickly changing into the waitress uniform.

Around 7:45 I went to the back and got changed for my performance. By 8, I was on stage- singing and playing my heart out, like always.

I finished up my first performance set around 9:50ish. The moment I finished changing and walked into the main area, I was engulfed in a hug.

"Tetsu! Kenken!" I smiled seeing the two boys. "Just you two, right?"
