Chapter 10

"Other than myself and my heart. This is the only thing I can offer to you," I said as I put the pasta in front of him.

He chuckled at that and dig in the food that I made for him.

I've been living with him for three days now. He never asked me to leave so I stayed. It's just three days but it felt like we're already living together for so long. We get along so much and always shared each other thoughts about everything.

I honestly don't want to leave anymore.

He's studying again even though he doesn't have any case to handle. I'm amazed how he can read all that thick books every one hour a day. I tried to read it but I get sleepy.

I can't understand the content since it's all about law.

All this three days being with him gave me a chance to get to know him more. One of those was his love for his work so much.

I was in the middle of cutting onions when I got a call from Senon.

"Don't turn on the TV. There's a news about my brother!" Si Senon.

Narinig ko pa ang iilang mura niya.

"About what?"

"Fucking woman! I'm so mad at her that I might shoot her to death right now. She's in a live news. Crying while telling lies to the media. Stupid bitch. What's wrong with her?" Galit na galit niyang sinabi.

I can feel his madness so it wasn't a joke. I turned around to look for Seb and saw him in front of the TV. Just when I thought he'll read the whole day. I didn't expect him to watch this time and he's watching the live news that Senon is talking about.

"He already saw it," bulong ko.

Kumunot ang noo ko at napailing nalang.

"Don't worry, he's calm." 

Nagmura siya ulit, "clean up your messed!" At pinatayan ako ng tawag.

Naninimbang ang titig ko sa kanya ng matapos ang kadramahan ni fiona sa TV. Tahimik kami pareho ng magtama ang tingin naming dalawa.

I want to know what's on his mind but he didn't speak either. We just stared at each other. I took a deep breath. 

"I'm really sorry for the trouble," I said as if the problem can be solved just like that.

"I don't think those people who'll believe her can attack me. Don't worry too much," aniya kalaunan.

But that didn't calm me a bit. I'm not contented with that answer.

"I always received a death threat because of my job. Receiving a hate from them isn't a big deal. It's not yet near from the death threat that I received all this years." Paniniguro niya.

Fiona has a lot of friends. I'm still worried. I'll put guards on him for my own peace of mind.

"Do you regret giving me a chance?" I asked out of nowhere.

Umiling siya agad, "of course not."

"I don't want you to overthink again like what you did when I didn't texted you for a day when I followed you in Carribbean."

Hinaplos ko ang pisnge niya.

He told me about overthinking that he thought I already give up because I didn't texted him for a day. I don't want that to happen again.

"I'll clean up this mess, alright? I'll comeback as soon as possible." At hinalikan siya sa pisnge.

I left and returned home quickly. I can't wait any longer. I thought mom will just shut up if I avoided her. I was wrong because she even had guts to ruined someone's image.
