1,500 years ago...

Blood. Blood was everywhere.

King Phantom couldn't see what has happening- he could only hear. He only heard screaming and more screaming. His evil daughter Shade stole the Gift of Communication from the Mythwings, and of course, being the father of a devil, apparently he had to take part of the blame.

Why does that bitch have to ruin everything? I could've still been able to see, and now the Mythwings see us as enemies!

See, the Mythwings were very peaceful. Queen Orchid would never want to get in an unnecessary war, and yet they took his sight and drained all his animus magic. Shade must've angered the Mythwings a lot if they managed to pull a stunt like that. He only remembered a small conversation and a flash of lightening before everything faded into complete darkness.

"But...why?", Briar asked, in tears. Princess Briar was best friends with Princess Shade. They shared all their secrets with each other and strengthened the alliance between the Mythwings and Ghostwings. And yet here they were, snout to snout from each other glaring, with their royal parent with them along with the whole tribe for backup. Worse enough, they were in Ghostwing territory, in front of the Ghostwing palace, and Phantom sensed something was about to happen. Something bad.

"You really didn't think I would stand by while you got all the glory, did you?" Shade sneered coldly while balancing the magic pearl on one claw.

"But I TRUSTED YOU! LIKE I DID FOR NO ONE ELSE! WE WERE FRIENDS AND THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY ME?!" Briar roared.

Shade smirked.

"WELL?!"

"You know, Your Highness, if you want to keep this conversation flowing at a slightly less awkward level, shouldn't we talk in private? You do realize the entire dragon population is gawking at us right now." Shade said, totally off topic. She was kind of right, though. All the Mythwings and Ghostwings were behind the arguing princesses on each side, which increased the tension.

But then again, it wasn't the entire dragon population that came to witness this absolutely catastrophic friendship breakup. At least, not the dragons living in the Lost Kingdoms, that is.

The other continent-Panamorphia, isn't it?  I wish Shade didn't antagonize some of the other queens living there. We could've built a strong connection, even though our continents were so far apart. We could've lived in harmony..."The Lost Kingdoms"...why do we still call it that even though we have a link to it? Maybe because hundreds of years ago, dragons didn't know the other continent existed. But it's different now.

He probably shouldn't have thought that so soon.

Briar had smoke coming out of her nostrils at this point. "Just- please, give us the pearl. Don't start a war. We can call a truce and everyone wins. Please Shade, do it for your tribe. Do it for me."

"Yes, Shade, return the pearl. The Mythwing princess commands you to. I command you to." Phantom said firmly.

Shade chuckled maliciously. "Oh, you mean...this pearl?"

Phantom couldn't believe what she did next. With full force, Shade smashed the Gift of Communication onto the ground, sending a whoosh of magic that expanded to the ends of the continent.

NO!!

Everyone was speechless, even the Ghostwing king. Phantom knew Shade's limits but this-

"YOU MONSTER!" Queen Orchid shouted. "MYTHWINGS, ATTACK!!!" The Mythwings' eyes glowed some sort of green, like they were preparing some sort of magical plant resistance. That's their power,  Phantom remembered, they can control plants with their mind. He knew Mythwings could also control deadly, poisonous plants and vines, and unless he wanted his kingdom wrecked by vegetation, he had to do something. "WAIT!" Everyone paused.
