6 MONTHS LATER

Ron Weasley?

Who?

The date is May 2, 1998. Eden Malfoy is a ruthless Death Eater and rumored to be the Dark Lord's right-hand man.

Eden goes to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Eden has no weaknesses.

Harry Potter, Ron Weatherby, and Hermione Granger have been gone for six months.

Eden spent two months in a confidential intensive rehab unit on the North side of the castle after she overdosed.

Madame Pomfrey was able to revive her before she died, but her immune system was scarred. Eden has to be watched when she sleeps, to make sure there are no further incidents. She has been regrettably sober for six months.

Right now, Eden is sitting through another dull History of Magic class. The professor is a literal ghost, how is she not supposed to be bored?

The Carrows and other Death Eaters replaced most of the teachers, and the school has become dangerous for anyone under half-blood status.

Everyday for the last six months, Eden had wished so dearly, that her attempt would have worked.

Class ended and Eden walked out before anyone else did.

"Eden." Draco accompanied her strutting down the full hallway. She nodded at Draco, but didn't say anything.

Eden's sleeves were rolled up, her arm on display.

Some groups turned and whispered to another, and she walked up to them.

"Would you like to say anything to me?" She asked. Draco came up to her and put a hand on her shoulder.

"Eden, you don't have to-." He started, but Eden silenced him quickly.

"I do what I want." She turned back to the girls.

"So. Which one of you opened your mouth first?" She asked. They turned and gave each other scared looks, but one girl kept her head down the whole time.

"You. What's your name?" She asked, using the tip of her wand to point the girl's chin up.

"G-Gemma Farley." She whispered quietly.

Eden remembered her. The first day on the train, she had sat next to Gemma in the Prefect's compartment. That was the first day she had ever seen Ron. She didn't like that.

"Crucio!" She shouted.

The girls gasped and ran, as their friend writhed in pain on the floor in front of them.

Gemma begged her to stop for four minutes. Eden would not. She wanted to make her point clear to the school and everyone in it. She was not to be talked about.

Finally, as tears streamed freely down Gemma's face, Eden stopped.

Eden bent down over Gemma's crumpled, sobbing body.

"Don't you ever, ever, let my name come out of your mouth again. Okay?" Eden asked, pushing a dark curl out of Gemma's face. She gave a sob before nodding weakly.

"I have to get to class." She spoke to Draco.

Eden stalked off to the hallway, leaving Gemma crying on the floor, and Draco looking helpless.

She wished she could take some pills right now, or have some Firewhiskey. But the stupid spell Madame Pomfrey had cast on her prevented her from doing that. Basically, every time she so much as breathed in the direction of some sleeping pills or alcohol, an alarm would go off in her office. If the alarm went off, she would be sent back to the rehab institution for another month.
