This Christmas was a lot different than others. It was Elizabeth's first with her biological family. Waking up on Christmas Eve, Elizabeth opens presents with her dad and Shay.
The morning was filled with new family traditions that Kelly was going to make sure he kept up for his daughter. He was on call for Christmas Day, so he was glad that he could get Elizabeth the day before.
There wasn't anything that Elizabeth wanted in the world, other than the love of her family. But that didn't stop the presents from coming in.
Kelly got Elizabeth an iPad, and a MacBook. He knew college was going to be hard for her, with her major being biomedical, so he wanted to make sure she had everything she would need.
Elizabeth got her dad a box of the best cigars, and her. Don't ask her how she bought them, it's still a secret to everyone but her plug
Later on that day, Elizabeth went to the firehouse to see everyone at 51. She would be leaving in days' time for her two weeks with her mother and Rio in New York.
It wasn't hard for Elizabeth to slip out and meet up with Léon, they still had to exchange Christmas presents after all.
The two were lovesick for each other, Kelly knew it, as well as Joe. He knew the boy had a rough past, but changed it all to be a better person through and through, and he had his daughter to thank for that
While together, it was revealed to Elizabeth that Lèon had to leave for protection reasons. "One of the boys overheard Joe asking me if I was shot, they know I was the reason they got popped. If I stay here, gang members on the outside will kill me. I'm sorry E."
Elizabeth knew how hard it was for Lèon to go undercover, and how hard he tried for her grandfather to get the correct information, "it's okay LC, you did your best. We can't ask for anything else. You'll keep in touch, right? I won't have to tackle Cruz and steal his phone to get a hey out of you will I?"
Lèon's love for Elizabeth ran as deep as her love for him, but she wouldn't know for years to come. "Of course E, I'll always be here. Even if it's just through a phone that you see me. I'm never leaving your side."
Christmas with her grandfather was a blast. She got a Car, even though everyone knew she would be hesitant to drive it. It was a Jeep Compass, which is a very safe first car. She still didn't want it
The only gift she wished for every year since she was four, was to find her father, and his family. Now that she has, there isn't anything in the world that could top that feeling.
The feeling of knowing that you'll never have to go hungry, cold, or without a home ever again.
