"Scoia'tel?" you frown, looking up at the elf atop the tree, who still kept his bow and arrow aimed at you and Geralt. "I'll explain later," Geralt whispers to you, "right now, let me do the talking."

"What do you seek here?! Speak!" the elf demands.
"Need to talk to your commander. It's important," Geralt answers. "I don't trust you," the elf says. "Figured as much when I saw your bow aim at us," Geralt admits, "Still have (y/n) and me in your sights, and neither of us is prone to doing stupid things. I can assure you of that." "I'll be assured of that when the both of you hand me your weapons," the elf sneers, "C'mon, your swords. Drop them, and I'll take you to Vernossiel."

Geralt takes a moment to consider. You keep your eyes on the elf, getting the feelings any sudden moves would guarantee an arrow through your heart and head.
"Fine. Lead the way," Geralt reluctantly agrees. He took the two swords off his back and dropped them. You were hesitant to leave your daggers, but figured as long as you were near Geralt, you shouldn't have too much to worry about.

You and the witcher now unarmed, the elf motions for the both of you to follow him to the Scoia'tel camp.
"So, who are these Scoia'tel?" you ask Geralt. "Group of elves mostly," Geralt explains, "guerilla fighters. The name mean squirrels. There are units of them dispersed throughout the Continent. They once fought for Nilfgaard during the last great war in exchange for a free Elven state." "Did they get it?" you ask. "The general elf population did," Geralt answers, "but at the cost of having the Scoia'tel condemned as outlaws." "They got screwed over by the humans basically," you somberly realize, "so they're outlaws now. That explains the raids then. You ever met any of them?" "Met them, worked with them too," Geralt admits, "but that's a story for another time."

Once making it to the camp, you and Geralt were now faced with this unit's commander. "Vatt'ghern?" Vernossiel greets, "Strange, no monsters trouble you." "Might not trouble you," Geralt says back, "but the Redanians are convinced something prowls these woods. Hired me to kill it."
"Well they're mistaken. It's not the first time," Vernossiel assures, "There's no monster here, your work is done."

"This isn't a game," Geralt scolds, crossing his arms, "Men have died." "Soldiers have died," the elven commander corrects, "Radovid's soldiers, serving the man who torments the Aen Siedhe from the Great Sea to the Blue Mountains. Soldiers who joined in massacres, tortured our brothers, raped our sisters. I shan't cry for them."
"Yeah, you and me both, sister," you quip in, thinking about what almost happened to you back at the Redanian encampment.

"We'll not stop attacking those transports," Vernossiel continues, "We must eat, same as you. So you've a choice...leave now and forget what you've seen, or die."
"Can't we have a third option?" you ask, only to recant when you notice dirty looks from some of the elves.

Geralt had to take some to consider his options, knowing full well his next move could either get the two of you killed, or let you leave this place by the skin of your teeth; even if he wasn't unarmed he was outnumbered. And to top that off, you yourself had very little experience fighting. This definitely wasn't what Geralt had signed up for.
Even if he didn't agree with what the Scoia'tel were doing, he wasn't about to get mixed up in this mess again; the shit show with the Squirrels and their commander back in Loc Muine had been more than enough for the witcher.

"Do what you will, I'm not about to get involved," he spoke.
"Give him and the girl their things, and toss in something from the transports," Vernossiel directs, "Wise decisions should be rewarded. Va fail."

You and Geralt both received your weapons along with some extra good as well. You got a new pair of boots that surprisingly fit your feet quite well. You also got a deck of cards, which you examine to see they pictures of certain characters with numbers on them.
