I stand in front of my mirror with a towel wrapped around my waist, while debating with myself if accepting to be part of this wedding was as much of a good idea as it initially seemed to be. I hear my brother shout from the hallway that it's almost time to go. Snap out of it, big boy, it's time to have a very fun dinner with the fam. I roll my eyes at Jack and walk towards the clothes that I set up earlier on the bed. I chose a simple pair of black jeans and a button down white shirt with a black blazer.

As I start to button my shirt, a knock on the door is heard and I instruct whoever it is to come inside. Harry's head peaks through and he playfully covers his eyes with his hand.

"Jesus man, the least you could do was be decent before you invite me inside." I laugh and finish buttoning my shirt, shaking my head at him. "I figured you'd be ready to go by now but I guess I was wrong."

"Give me a break man, I got slightly distracted by the fact that I will need to see my ex girlfriend in like...." I glance at the time on my watch. "30 minutes I would say."

Harry sits down on my bed while he waits for me to finish getting ready. I know him well enough now to understand the look on his face, it's the one he has when he's trying to find the right thing to say. "I know it's going to be hard on you, but I will be right there and it is one of the biggest nights of your brothers life, he needs your full support."

"She's taking her new boyfriend, you know?" A sarcastic laugh escapes my lips. "Well, I guess I should say her old boyfriend because in all fairness, she did date him before."

"Do you mean Richard? Last I heard he was engaged to someone here at home and expecting a child." Harry questioned with visible confusion.

"No, I actually mean Hunter." I put my blazer on and take one last look in the mirror. I have recently decided to not shave so a bit of beard is already evident on my face, a difference from my previous fully shaved look. When I turn around to instruct Harry to leave the room, his jaw is still pretty much on the floor.

Harry doesn't say anything while we go down the stairs and meet up with my dad and Amanda. Sam left in the meantime to go and pick up Caroline so they could go together. We decide to take two separate cars since Harry and I need to take the musical equipment that will already stay at the venue overnight. We hop inside his car and as soon as he fastens his seat belt and starts the car, he turns over to me.

"Seriously?! She actually went back to fucking Hunter? Jesus, what a dumbass." He shakes his head and starts making the way to the restaurant. I ask him to take the long way so we get some distance from my dad so I can peacefully smoke a cigarette. There's no way I'm walking into that restaurant without doing something to calm my nerves.

When we arrive there aren't many people yet, I say hello to some relatives that I haven't seen since England and we make our way to the stage to set up the equipment. We tune the instruments to make sure everything is in place and a very control freak Caroline comes up to us.

"So, boys, first of all thank you for coming." We both laugh and I place a hand on Caroline's shoulder gently. "Care, I'm the best man, you don't need to thank me for coming to my brother's wedding."

"I'm sorry, I'm just so nervous and want everything to go smoothly and perfect." She takes a deep breath and shakes her head seemingly trying to focus. "You will play 3 songs of your choice tonight. One before dinner, to entertain the guests, one after dinner and one slightly later for a small dance session, try to make that one a bit more cheerful, but the other's can be whatever you'd like."

We both nod and start discussing between us the potential songs to play. The good thing about playing with Harry is that we have very similar tastes so we never actually bicker about playing more one's preferences than the other's. We end up deciding on the songs and wait for Caroline's signal to start performing. Since she mentioned that it could still take a while due to some late guests, we head to the bar.
