A Little Bit Yours

Chapter XIV - The Move

The next morning I wake up with the rays of sun coming through the curtains of the room. I feel the need to stretch but I can't as I have Ella laying on my chest, wearing nothing but my button down shirt from last night. She looks so peaceful sleeping that it almost pains me to wake her up.

I glance at my watch to see the time and notice that it's almost 11AM, which means that I do need to wake her up since I need to meet my mother for lunch. I press a gentle kiss to the top of her head and feel her move slightly. "I refuse to get out of this bed so don't even try." I laugh at her words and she tightens her grip on me.

"I'm sorry, love, but I do need to get up since I have to meet my mother." Ella groans and opens her eyes to look up at me and press a soft kiss to my lips. "I had forgotten about that, you're right."

"Would you like to come with me?" I ask, hoping that she will agree and lace my fingers with hers. "Don't you think this should be your moment with her so you can get all of your answers?"

"I would feel much better if you were there with me." It's going to be a hard conversation to have and having Ella there with me would for sure ease my mind. She ends up agreeing and sitting up on the bed while we both stretch. Last night was physically hard on us, if you know what I mean. "I do need to take a shower before we go." 

"Well, I need one too, but I don't exactly have a change of clothes here." I mention and laugh since I was not at all prepared to sleep out last night. "Let me shower real quick then and we can stop by your house before meeting your mother. I have my car in the garage downstairs."

Ella kisses me briefly and then gets up to shower. She doesn't take long and comes back out wearing a pair of jeans and a dark blue sweatshirt. It amazes me how she manages to look good regardless of what she is wearing. I have my suit back on already and I'm ready to leave. "Are you still going to be staying here tonight?"

"Yes, I booked the hotel for two nights since tomorrow morning I have my flight back to the US." She says and suddenly her tone grows sadder and I guess the realization hits us both. Don't throw this all away just because of a couple of months, both of you are almost done with college, it will go by very fast. Once more, Jack is right and I am not ready to simply give this up and I need to show that to her. I take her hands softly in mine and press a kiss to her forehead. "I will be right here waiting for you to come back, or ready to move with you wherever you want to go."

"Do you really mean that?" Ella asks apprehensively, her fears getting the best of her and I can't really blame her. "I do mean it, I've waited long enough for it to be our time to be happy, a couple months will not change that."

"I don't really know what I want to do after college yet." She sighs and moves to grab her bag. "I love it there but somehow I think I should be here close to my family for as long as I can. Imagine that Caroline has a kid, I don't want to be that far away, you know?"

I nod and rub her back, pulling her into a hug. "I will support any decision that you make and I can promise you that I won't let anything get between us anymore. We can consider it together and do what's best for the both of us. All I know is that wherever you are is where I want and need to be."

Ella smiles genuinely at me and presses a passionate kiss to my lips. "Thank you, Josh, that means a lot. I know it must be hard for you to think that I'm going to be across the ocean and that Hunter will be there, I know it's taking a lot from you to try and be alright with this."

"If this is going to work, I need to trust you and you need to trust me, and I do. I know what we have and he won't be the one to ruin it." I affirm and Ella nods, squeezing my hand. I am the jealous type but it's mostly because I don't understand how someone like her could ever want to be with someone like me, in my mind she will always deserve better but I will work on being the man that she deserves every single day. "I love you, Ella, with everything in me."
