Ella is left completely speechless at my words, but the tears rolling down her cheeks at the same time she smiles at me are enough for me to know what her answer might be. Harry stays in silence although he looks like he could just burst from happiness at any second, not wanting to do so until she actually says something. Before Ella actually manages to get a single word out, a knock comes on the door and Caroline stands at the door frame.
"Why is everyone so silent in here? I was expecting some more action." She asks with a smile on her face before nodding towards me. "Happy to see you awake, sleeping beauty. You owe me about two years of therapy for all the emotional support I had to provide."
"I believe I can do you one better, sis in law." I laugh softly before turning to Ella again who is now nodding her head at me before pressing a kiss to my lips, not so soft this time but I don't mind it. "And based on this kiss, I will definitely do you one better, you have a wedding to organize."
"Who's getting married?" Caroline confusedly questions, until sudden realization is splattered across her face. "Holy shit, did you just propose to her?"
"He did and it was so freaking beautiful." Harry says and congratulates us both before heading out the room with a large smile to allow Caroline to sit with us for a bit.
"I'm so happy for you guys and I will gladly plan your wedding!" She does her signature excited clap and hugs Ella tightly. "I already have so many ideas, oh my God!"
"Care, calm down." Ella says with a laugh and rolls her eyes at her sister. "The man is barely awake yet, he just might be delusional and change his mind. Plus, I don't think we want to jump into a marriage in the next month, you have time to plan everything."
"Well, we do not as a matter of fact plan to get married next month. We need to finish college and I want to dedicate myself to the record deal and my recovery first, then we will take that step." I state, agreeing with Ella which makes Caroline pout. I have no doubt that she would pull off a wedding tomorrow if we asked her to. "I do want to say though that I am not delusional and I've never been more certain of anything in my life."
A nurse stops by to give me my medication and informs that it would be best for me to be alone for a little while since it has been a lot of emotions and I just recently woke up and don't want to exhaust all my energy. Caroline excuses herself and leaves the room almost skipping like a child and Ella laughs before pressing one more kiss to my lips. "I will come back to see you later today, get some rest now. I do have something to tell you, your mom has been here basically every day. I think she really is making an effort and she seemed to be as affected as all of us were."
I thank her for telling me that and end up drifting to sleep shortly after she leaves the room. The nurse warned me that the medication was still pretty strong due to my injuries and that it could make me feel very tired and sleepy so I would often take naps. I guess she was right. In my dream, I see me and Ella getting married in a beautiful garden surrounded by the one's we love. That's all I want, her and our family to share that beautiful moment that hopefully one day we will tell to our kids.
I wake up a couple hours later I imagine and my body feels the need to stretch but I can't. The doctor said that I will be able to do some light physical therapy with a trained professional while in bed to make sure my muscles get used to movement again. As soon as the thought comes, so does another nurse to do those exact exercises with me. It's just some minor things like slowly bending the leg that isn't broken to see how it feels, moving my feet and also stretching my arms without pushing it too much because of my broken ribs. The last exercises of trying to sit up using my arms and the arm stretching cause me some pain, nothing too terrible but still uncomfortable, probably not hitting me as much because of all the pain killers they feed me.
