Chapter 4

Now that Rare is gone.

Party is over for Scarlett.

Actually, she is very disappointed dahil bigla na lamang itong nawala at hindi man lang nagpaalam.

Even Monique noticed her best friend’s mood but she chose not to speak.  Monique didn't want Scarlett to get more upset.

Biglang napahinga ng malalim si Scarlett without her realizing it.

"Are you alright?" Concern na tanong ni Monique. She wants to know what's on her mind. Maybe she can help.. at least.

"Ah yeah." Tumango tango si Scarlett. She is not really up in any conversation right now kaya she make an excuse. "Pupunta lang ako sa restroom."

Sinundan ni Monique nang tingin si Scarlett nang tumayo ito. 'Do you want me to go with you?"

Scarlett smiles at her best friend. "Wag na." She let a chuckle throat. "Kaya ko na, babalik din agad ako, besides.." Tumingin sya kay Julian na titig na titig kay Monique na tila nagpapantasya. "You have Julian here."

But Monique didn't care. "But.."

"I'll be back." At tinapik ni Scarlett si Monique sa balikat bago tuluyang umalis.

Wala naman talaga syang balak pumunta ng bathroom. Scarlett just want to be alone——a space to breath, a space to think and realize some important things.

Lumiko si Scarlett palabas ng event hall and surprisingly na punta sya sa napakalawak na garden, maraming klaseng halaman. May fountain pa sa gitna na napapalibutan ng red roses.

A good place to relax. She thought.

She slowly stepped towards the fountain but  immediately stopped when Scarlett noticed someone sitting on the swing——thanks to the light coming from the moon so could see who it was.

Scarlett's heart begun to race by just the sight of her.

Hindi nya alam kung lalapit ba sya o aalis na lang. 

But..

Curiosity killed the cat though.

Kaya dahan dahan syang lumapit sa kinaroroonan ni Rare, she tried her best to be quiet as possible. Ayaw nyang takutin ang babae since medyo madilim sa garden.

"Are you following me?"

Muntik nang mapatalon si Scarlett sa pagkagulat. "Oh my, how did you..."

Natawa si Rare without even looking at her. "Your perfume." May ininom sya, Scarlett is sure na alak ito. Then Rare turn her head towards her. "Scarlett."

The beautiful surgeon had goosebumps, it happens every time this girl says her name.

Very odd for Scarlett.

"Akala ko umalis ka na." Sabi ni Scarlett na titig na titig kay Rare.

"I was about to." Rare answered honestly but she didn't leave. Not yet. "How about you? Bakit ka umalis sa party nyo?"

"Not my thing." Agad nyang sagot. Naupo si Scarlett sa bakanteng swing na katabi ni Rare. "I rather be home or in the hospital."

"That's weird." Bulong ni Rare. "For someone's beautiful as you."

Napasulyap si Scarlett kay Rare. "What do you mean?"

Umiling si Rare sabay kuha ng bote ng wine mula sa sahig. "Want some?"

Scarlett just stare at the bottle with a slight smile. "Teka paano mo yan nakuha?"

"Sa waiter." Natawa si Rare.
