Chapter 13

"Ang taas ng lagnat mo." Sabi ko kay Rare pagkakuha ko ng thermometer sa kili kili nya. "40."

Rare just lay down in the sofa with her eyes closed. Namumula mula din ang mukha nya at medyo mabilis din ang paghinga.

The next thing i check is her blood pressure just to make sure na hindi sya high blood at normal naman. Wala ding dinadaing na masakit si Rare so I'm sure na lagnat lang talaga.

Kaya pinainom ko sya ng paracetamol.

"Thank you." Mahina nyang pasasalamat pagkapainom nya ng gamot.

"I got you some clothes, magpalit ka muna." Sabi ko kay Rare. "Basang basa ka, baka lalo ka magkasakit."

Dahan dahan namang naupo si Rare. Medyo tumutulo pa ang tubig ulan mula sa buhok nya. "Si..sige."

Pero hindi pa man sya nakakatayo nang lubusan pero natumba ulit sya sa sofa.

"Kaya mo ba?" Concern ko na tanong.

Tuma ho si Rare. "O—oo."

And I know for a fact na she's lying. She can't fool a doctor, isang tingin ko palang sa pasyente ay inaanalyzes na nang utak ko bawat detalye nila like Patient's demeanor, complexion, posture etc.

"Ah, do you want me to help you change?" I asked politely, Ayaw ko kasi maging awkward between us especially right now na hindi sya okay.

No malice.

Just care.

And probably love.

Rare didn't show any reaction. "Kaya ko naman Scarlett." Pinilit nyang tumayo ng daretso. "Nasan ba ang bathroom?"

"Are you sure?"

Tumango sya at kinuha ang mga damit sa lamesa.

As much as i want to help but I respect her. "Next to the kitchen, to left."

Tahimik nang pumunta si Rare sa bathroom at nagtimpla naman ako ng gatas for her. I even tried to call Forest para sabihin ang nangyari but he's not answering.

In the other hand, I'm wondering though, how did she found out where i live? And what happened to her? I know she has many friends including Julian pero bakit sakin nya mas piniling lumapit? I mean after all what happened between me and her.

She still asked me to help her.

Pero ano nga bang problema ni Rare?

"Aalis na ako."

Napasulyap ako kay Rare na nakatayo sa likuran ko dito sa kusina. "No you are not." Lumapit ako sa kanya na hawak ang baso ng gatas. I let her decide most of the time because i respect the pain I gave her but on this one.  "You are staying here until you are better."

Nagtitigan kaming dalawa.

"May sakit ka at ang taas ng lagnat mo." I couldn't get the better look of her face, it's blank. Even her eyes are emotionless. "What happened though Rare?"

Her lips moves, probably contemplating what to say. Knowing Rare, she's very mysterious and will choose her words wisely. "I just lost someone."

"Who?" Now i feel very much concerned and curious. "Please tell me."

She looks down to hide everything from me. "Someone's so dearly to me."

I can't think of anything else dahil wala naman akong alam sa background ni Rare, even sa contract walang nakalagay na reference. Rare is practically reclusive in this world.

"Girlfriend?" I know I'm such a fool for asking this.

"Really Scarlett?" Her face grimaces at me. "Coming from you."
