Chapter 9

Forest was surprised by Scarlett's reaction to a random woman in the park.  He is intrigued and wants to know that ... "Who's Rare?"

But Scarlett looks achingly heartbroken. Hindi nya naririnig si Forest, she's too focused on Rare na naglaho na parang bula.

Nanghihina na papikit si Scarlett. God. Does she know the truth? Kaya ba umiiwas na sakin si Rare?

She feels hopeless.

She feels horrible that they ended up like this.

Though she could have do better to save their promising romance but still Scarlett didn't dahil hindi nya alam kung paano ipagtatapat kay Forest na may iba na syang mahal at isa itong babae.

Until Forest grabs her arm, a little tighter. He couldn't bare the look of his wife's face. "Scarlett.."

The touch brought Scarlett back in reality that she's with Forest and demanding for an answer. Forest already feels something is off pagkauwi nya palang galing ng Cebu. Ang buong akala nya ay nagdududa lang sya nang walang dahilan——praning. Ngunit ngayon ay tila nagkakaroon na nang linaw ang nararamdaman nya.

Napasulyap ang Surgeon kay Forest. "You are hurting me."

Agad namang inalis nito ang kamay nya sa braso ng babae. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay." Kalmado na sagot ni Scarlett and forced herself to smile. She didn't want to look more obviously guilty about loving someone else. "And Rare is a.. friend."

"Oh." Napaisip si Forest.

"I haven't seen her in awhile." Pagsisinungaling ni  Scarlett. "Kaya naexcite lang ako nang makita ko sya dito."

"Maybe she didn't see you." Katwiran ni Forest because he believes her.

Wala sa loob na tumango si Scarlett. "Maybe..."

Hinapalos ni Forest ang pisngi ni Scarlett with so much love. "Matagal na kayong magkaibigan? Kasi parang ngayon ko lang narinig ang pangalan nya."

Hindi makatingin ng daretso si Scarlett sa asawa. "Mm yes, matagal na."

"Why don't you invite once for dinner? It would be awesome right?" Forest suggested. "I want to meet her."

"Forest.." Huminga nang malalim si Scarlett para sumagida sa sasabihin nya. She is tempted to tell him at baka mahabol nya pa si Rare. "About Rare, she's.."

"Shi!" Biglang dumating si Monique bitbit ang binilin nitong pagkain. "Kanina pa kita hinahanap."

Napapikit nalang si Scarlett sa bad timing ng kaibigan nya.

Monique immediately noticed Scarlett's face. The look that her best friend about to give up a huge decision. "Mm, did i interrupt something?"

Umiling si Scarlett sabay ngiti. "Of course not, we are just talking."

Forest feels strange, but he ignores it though. "Come on let's eat? Medyo nagutom ako."

Pumunta sila sa bakanteng upuan para magpahinga at kumain.

Scarlett is quite but her mind is busy thinking about Rare. Kailangan nyang makausap ang dalaga, to explain, to reason out if ever na alam na nyà ang totoo.

She wants to be honest this time.

Sana lang hindi pa huli ang lahat.

Biglang tumayo si Forest. "Ah, Scarlett."

Sinundan ng tingin ni Scarlett ang asawa.

"Magrerestroom lang ako. May ipapabili ka pa ba?"
