This is a paragraph taken from a short story I am working on provisionally entitled 'The Sky In a Lake'... Hope you like it xox

'You really did it' the girl said. The words fell from her lips and died somewhere in the space between them. The knife falling from clumsy adrenaline filled fingers and clattering on hard cold floor didn't even seem to make a sound. She drifted towards him, so graceful it was as though she was a feather floating on the surface of the blood that surrounded them. It was like a liquid island in a faded linoleum sea.
The boy was wordless. His pulse was racing. His hands shaking in anticipation of her touch.
As their bodies reached each other his lips mouthed words against her lips, that he couldn't say out loud. His scarlet fingers dragged their marks across her dress, her skin and through her hair. They shouted out, 'I own her. I own this. I own love. And she owns me. You can't ever take away that.'
