Chapter 16

Me and Penny gave Brandon our report, we was extremely happy that a Quaestor class Exorcist was killed but also reminds me and Penny that they will triple down noe that a higher up died,
he says along the lines of never drop your guard, never become arrogant, take everything and everyone seriously even if I can easily kill them and that's about it, before I crashed Brandon handed me a paycheck,
my eyes light up as I take ot and say thanks. "You say that but when you open it up, don't be upset when you don't get your $12,000,000.
Though now that you've reported to me expect then to throw you some kind of bone."
Wow treat me like a dog,
anywhoo so long as I got money I'm not too upset over the loss of money but should this issue presist,
I'll wait until I get stronger then them then I'll get my money out of them that they owe me and don't think I won't,
I will. Once I set my mind to something there is not stopping me.
I returned to my room and opened the letter containing my payment,
a silver white looking rune appears, next thing I know money starts flying out of the rune,
it just kept making more and more fly up into the air until my room was coverd in money,
finally it stopped but I had to pick it all up, Penny helped me count it all before we had to go to sleep.

"Six million." She says.
So the Demon Council docked half my pay which means one day I'm going to make them fess up the other six million even if I have to beat it out of them. Penny tells me night and goes to her room to sleep, I pass out in no time and I dream about all the souls I have absorbed,
I saw each and everyone of their memories, fights, demon forms,
how they used runes to how they interacted with everyone,
I even got to see how Vantis climbed the Exorcist ranks so fast.
I've concluded that these dreams are in fact not dreams but instead memories, I wake up to the sound of my work phone buzzing, I pick it up and I hear my brother's voice.

"Yo Seth, me, Sora and Terra are in town and we want to see you."
I groan, as happy as I am to hear from them, I unfortunately got to break the news to them about grandma,
so I told them the unfortunate truth. "Served her right, we were wondering when you'd have her thrown in jail, anyway, mind if we swing by the place?"
I told them where I'm currently staying and texted my brother Chace the adress. "Got it, thanks, we'll be there within a hour or so." I say okay then we hung up, I get myself dressed for the day and inform Brandon to which he sighs.

"Seth, this isn't a daycare buddy, if they are human our instincts will be to eat them and at worst they'll be Exorcist and you know we don't leave them alive."
The thought of my boss killing them pissed me off so I put my hand on his shoulder and tightly grip it.
"Brandon, they aren't Exorcist and they are my siblings, I see them once a year for about a week or less, humor me for bit please." Brandon gives in but let's me know he isn't happy.
"Fine but to make up for this I'll be having you work double shifts everyday for six days once they leave. Do. I. Make. Myself. Clear?"
I nod.
"Crystal clear." Brandon walks out of his office and I follow,
Brandon announces my siblings will be here soon and for everyone to treat them with respect then he coughs and yells Leon then coughs some more.

"Not cool pops, not cool."
Pops, wait a second, does this mean Brandon adopted Leon?
"Yo Leon, you never told me Brandon adopted you."
Leon looks at me like I'm stupid. "You never asked moron, yeah Brandon adopted me and Penny, he's our dad."
I look at Brandon and to my surpise he confirms it as true.
"Yup, I adopted them when they were younger. Penny was adopted first at age six, Leon was adopted at age ten to thirteen or so, when you get as old as I am dates tend to blur together, but yeah, me and Penny met Leon when he was such a trouble maker." He says like Leon wasn't a trouble maker before we met.

"Yeah I ran with a bunch of teens, we'd break into houses and steal a bunch of shit, my parents were overly religious, bed time at nine o'clock on a good day, eight o'clock on a bad day, go to bed without supper if I really misbehaved, honestly it amazed me that they never learned their lesson, they always had to be right, they were never wrong, they'd argue over everything, got onto me if I wasn't interested in politics, the president or the weather. They never wanted to listen to me talk about my video games or tv shows like a real parent. Told me all works of fiction had no education to it unless it had live actors and moral story to it. Had to watch my cartoons in secret a lot, I was grounded everytime they cought me watching cartoons and after so long I just stopped caring about what they said, soon groundings became the normal and I just stopped listening. Eventually we robbed a Exorcist where house and I saw these awsime earrings, next thing I know I'm a Artificial Demon and eventually enough was enough. I blasted a hole through both my father and mother, they fell over dead and I told the cops it was a murder, that's when I met pop and he adopted me."

Wow so he had a shitty childhood just like me.

"Hey Seth, you never told us you had siblings." I looked at her just like Leon did me and politly say you never asked. "What are they like?"
I stop to think about it, honestly I barely know them myself,
my parents adopted them when I was still young,
to my knowledge they grew up in a orphange together and they were bullied by the other children for their odd colored hair and red eyes,
they never really talked with the other kids either or their care taker and yet when my parents swung by one day off duty they just kinda took a liking to them I guess.
I've always been close to Chase,
we love anime and video games together, we read manga,
we're both fighters that love hand to hand comabat as well as martial arts, Sora is still a mystery to me sort of,
she wears a red leather jacket,
a white crop top and very short shorts, the kind sporty women wear all year long even in the winter.
She's friendly enough to talk to it's just as a person I don't really know her.

Nothing really interests her, she plays a guitar and likes that but that's about it. Terra wears her heart on her sleeve and is the friendliest out of the three however one thing they all have in common is that they are dense to certain emotions,
they just aren't emotionally connected to certain emotions,
the best I can describe Chase as is he says he's broken and can't feel emotions despit him smiling, being happy,
being sad,
being annoyed, being angry, being depressed.
He has all the human emotions and even shows them but he still claims he's broken and can't really feel any of that which frustrates me.
"Umm putting it nicely Penny, they are complicated. Terra wears her heart on her sleeve and is the easiest to get along with, I don't really know her hobbies or interests, Chase loves anime manga and video games, shows emotions but says he lacks them a lot, Sora isn't interested in anything other then the guitar, she has the closest bond to Chase and Terra and we just don't really interact with each other really. And that's everything you should know."

Penny declares she will make friends with them no matter what,
Leon states we shouldn't expect a warm welcome out of him,
Anton is Anton, he just doesn't care, and Brandon says he will do his best to give them a warm welcome.
I take a deep breath, honestly I'm more worried about Chase developing Anti Social Personality Disorder,
or Alexithymia. Either one Chase checks out for both, I just hope the vist goes over well.
