(Seth's Familiar POV)
I was running with what few people were left,
Sillva and Kogo were stopped by two Legates and five Black Knight class Exorcist, Raina enterd a one v one against a Legate and holding her own,
Kaze and Souza were with me as well as Crystal and Flecia.
I stopped running all of a sudden and look back as both Leon and Penny's scent disappears................. I.......... I can't believe they died............ my two best friends...... they're dead......... THEY'RE DEAD!
I tried to fight back the tears as I didn't have time to mourn their loss as I continued running up the stairs.
The next floor was the room we were looking for but to my surpise the weapons were gone,
was this apart of Brandon's scheme? "Pope leader of The Church, we've come to end thy reign and secure our future for the Artificial Demons!" Kaze says, I focus on the situation and surely enough the Pope was in his office.
"That's what you think. Brandon if you would."
To everyone but my surpise a lightning rune goes off on everyone,
even me and forces us to our knees, Brandon walks over to the Pope, hands in pocket,
his expression cold and uncaring. "BRANDON WHY?!"
Was all I could yell.
"Mister Brandon Yeets was kind enough to inform me personally about this so called plan and agreed to help us win in exchange for his soul to be saved,
purified and set free from his demon." That's a load of bullshit if I ever did hear it! "BRANDON!"
I continue to yell and that's when he started to laugh menically,
even the Pope looks at him weirdly before his head was grabbed and poped like a balloon.
All I could do was stare in shock as the Pope's brain mush fell to the floor, I think I'm going to be sick.
"You sly dog, you were playing double agent weren't you?"
Flecia asks but it was clear to us that he wasn't a double agent,
no there's something else,
there has to be,
why else would he kill the Pope the very guy that proclaimed him as his ally? "No, he's not playing double agent, Brandon has a different plan entirely." I tell Flecia.
Brandon walks over to me and squats down. "Why did you kill your ally? And what do you have to gain from betraying the Demon Council?!"
Brandon looks me in the eye before standing up.
"You seriously want to know why I betrayed the Demon Council? Let's say I actually took the time to explain my motives, how would this information benefit you in amyway?" I glare at Brandon and everyone starts realizing Brandon's true colors.
"It'll help me determine wether or not I should kill you or if your actions are justified!"
He sighs as he makes a water rune to wash all the blood off his hands before dismissing it.
"My goal is to achieve peace and deal justice to the Artificial race."
I begin to snarl at him, this bastard knows how to push my fucking buttons.
"Really? You want to achieve peace between the Artificial Demons and humanity? You want to in act justice? DON'T GIVE ME THAT BULLSHIT! YOU KILLED MY FRIENDS!" My mind creates a mental image of Leon dead. "YOU KILLED MY GIRLFRIEND WHO WAS ALSO YOUR DAUGHTER!"
My mind also creates a image of a dead Penny,
everyone begins looking at me like what the fuck?
"YOU SACRIFICED TWO PEOPLE THAT WERE PRACTICALLY YOUR KIDS AND FOR WHAT? SOME SO CALLED PEACE! ALL I SEE IS WAR!
I SEE EXORCIST DYING TO PROTECT HUMANITY!
I SEE ARTIFICIAL DEMONS FIGHTING TO PROTECT THEMSELVES AS WELL AS THEIR RACE!
I SEE SO MANY INNOCENT PEOPLE, DEMON AND HUMAN DEAD!
ALL FOR WHAT?!
DON'T YOU DARE SAY YOU'RE DOING THIS FOR PEACE!"
I take a bunch of deep breaths to calm myself,
for once Brandon gives me a genuine sympathetic look.
"Then what do you purpose we do Seth?" I get up on my feet despite the shock running through my body.
"FIRST I'M GOING KILL YOU FOR MY FALLEN FRIENDS!
THEN I'M GOING TO FIX BOTH SIDES OF THIS DAMN SYSTEM SO THAT HUMANS AND DEMONS CAN COEXIST!"
Everyone goes silent and Brandon's stone cold poker face goes back up.
"How very noble of you,
yeah you might bring peace one day, however what about my human wife and half breed child that was killed at the hands of the Artificial race?
Hmmm?
What about my home town that was wiped out by Exorcist for simply being demons? I've lost friends and family just like you under similar circumstances,
so how is it fair to let you preach about what I've done when you are no better then me yourself?"
