It was a less busy week in comparison to other weeks due to Thanksgiving. It was their last day in the office before a long weekend. Haseena was going through some files, however, Karishma was continuously stealing glances at her. She still had a pen between her teeth as she was thinking about something and then she removed it and started to write something, her hair was tied in a pencil bun as usual and she was continuously making an effort to push her hair strand which falls on her face, every now and then.

Karishma cleared her throat, "Why don't you bring Misha here today instead of dropping her at the daycare? She can look around as we barely have anyone," She said while looking at her.

Haseena, who still had the pen between her lips, took it out and widened her eyes to get out of her confused state, "Umm...Why are you after her?"

"I am not after her," Karishma moved uncomfortably on her chair.

"No, you are!" She placed the pen on the table and looked at her displeasingly.

"She wanted to come here; she was very excited to see the law office," Karishma said, trying to put her point forward.

"She doesn't need to see this place," Haseena replied as she started skimming through the file again.

"Why?" She asked calmly.

"Because, you are here," Haseena answered without looking at her.

"Am I a bad influence?" Karishma asked with a slight tremble in her voice as her heartbeat continued to increase.

"No, you are not. It's just that....," She tried to answer without looking into her eyes.

"You don't want her to be around me," Karishma asked as she continued to stare at her face.

Haseena didn't say anything.

"Why don't you want her to be around me, Miss Mallik?" Karishma asked as she got up from her chair and started taking steps towards her desk.

"Because you are rude and arrogant," She uttered the first thing that came to her mind.

"That's your opinion about me and I don't think so it matters in Misha's case," she said as she pulled a chair and sat opposite to her.

"She is my daughter and what I think about you, matters in my daughter's case," she said while pretending to be playing with a pen between her fingers.

"You are lying Miss Mallik. Don't forget, I am a lawyer. A part of my job includes looking out for people's body language too," she said as she placed her hand on Haseena's desk and looked directly at her. "So, tell me Miss Mallik what is bothering you?"

Haseena just stared at her for some time. "I don't want her to get used to your presence. If she gets attached to people it's hard for her to get over," She said calmly.

"Are you sure that's about it?" Karishma said while searching her face for some expression but she kept her face straight.

"What else it could be?" She looked at her questionably.

"Don't you think, you are being irrational. You are going to live with us for two years and you think in all this time, we won't have any interactions with Misha. However, I think she has already started growing on me and Maa," she said with an affection-filled voice for Misha. "It's only me, Isn't it? Because I don't see you have any problems with her connecting to Maa."
